I can bring you to those popular destinations from my base, Toyama city. These are the examples of my tour: Kanazawa - Shirakawago - Takayama Takaoka - Gokayama - Shirakawago - Takayama Toyama - Tateyama Kurobe Alipne Route - Omachi (Nagano Pref.) During the tour I like to provide simple explanations about Japanese history, and small tips for using the Japanese language on your request. After having lived in Tokyo for some decades, now I live in my hometown, Fukui where you can have a great experience of Zen buddhism in the head temple of the Zen sect, Eiheiji which was founded in 1244. Fukui Dinosaur Museum is very popular regardless of age. It is one of the world's three largest dinosaurs. Echizen is also well known for Japan's handmade crafts including kitchen knives, washi paper, lacquer wares, Tansu chests and pottery. Seeing craftsmen's work right in front of you makes you excited and impressed. I have been travelling Kanazawa since my high school age so I know well about the town to show you around as well as Shirakawago, a day trip from Kanazawa. Kanazawa is known for many things including gold leaf, a rich samurai history, its beautiful gardens, delicious seafood, and historic Geiko (Geisha) culture. I would love to introduce these things and so much more! Did you know Kanazawa is also home to the oldest sake brewery in the region? What about the local ceramics and laquerware? You can also participate in different workshops like traditional Japanese sweets-making class, gold leaf pasting, Kaga-yuzen (local kimono brand) painting, and sushi-making using local ingredients. There are many beautiful known spots and a lot of hidden gems in the area and I can't wait to introduce them to you. “Great day visiting Shirakawago”
Yoji was not only extremely knowledgeable of the area, but he is a super nice guy and seems to really understand what his clients are looking for in the tour. He is flexible with schedule and helped us to navigate the train system, actually stopping by the station with us and helping get the right tickets for the rest of our visit. Highly recommend Yoji.

“Highlights of Kanazawa”
We got off our ship earlier than expected, but Yoji was there. What a wonderful day. The Kanazawa Kanagawa Castle and Park were absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our walk through the market, the Samurai district and the Geisha district. Yoji certainty knows his hometown well. He also selected a delicious soba shop for our lunch. Like Yoji, the owner/chef was a unforgettable personality. Yoji is the best!!!
