Please check "IMPORTANT". Hi, I’m Kazuto! Please call me “Kazu”! I was born and raised in Osaka. I’ve been working as a Japanese tutor and sometimes show my students around Osaka. My students sometimes feel stressed in Japan due to the language barrier even though they study Japanese and I’ve decided to become a tour guide in Kansai to help tourists! DO YOU WANT A STRESS-FREE TRIP? I can be your private concierge for your trip. Let me know if you need any help! By the way, I like anime, manga, video games, I’m an Otaku :) There are a lot of “otaku” places in Osaka like “Nintendo Osaka”, “Pokemon Center”, “Shonen-JUMP store”, “Universal Studio Japan” and so on. I want to show impressive Japanese Pop Culture so much!! Japan has limited-time anime, game or manga-collab cafes. You have to book for many of them and I can help you with the booking! Also, I like eating out! I can offer bar-hopping tours, share good ramen restaurants, and so on! I’m looking forward to seeing you! Let’s explore deep Osaka!

I lived in Seattle, WA US for several years to study public policy and urban planning at University of Washington and Washington State Department of Transportation . The US life has awakened me to realize its beauty and value of the Japanese nature and culture. I have provided hospitality and honesty as a Japanese during my professional career. I can give you not only sightseeing tours but also technical tours with my expertise. I live in Osaka where an ancient capital city, Kyoto is located within a hour by train. I can show you how Japanese has developed the capital city with urban planning and infrastructure development. Yoshihisa T.
Hi. My name is Yoshihisa. Call me "Yoshie", please. It means good or O.K. in Japanese. I live in Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture, located just in between Kyoto and Nara. I was born and raised in Iga, Mie Prefecture. Iga is a birthplace of ninja and a renowned haiku poet, Matsuo Basho. I might be a descendant of ninja. I aim at becoming a linguistic ninja, following a part of Basho's lifestyle with the incorporation of seasonal changes into my tours. In addition to visiting famous temples and shrines, I invite you to lesser-known places of historic interest. Once in a month I go hiking or mountain climbing with some friends mainly in mountains surrounding Kyoto and Nara basins. Recently I have got intrigued by the charms of Buddhist statues, which are manifestations of people's wishes and prayers. I also like izakaya (Japanese-style taverns) hopping, tasting delicious dishes and locally brewed sake at reasonable prices. Especially I like communicating with people from home and abroad, talking face to face. Some of the above-mentioned elements are included in my walking tours. I hope you will discover new aspects of cultural and natural beauty in Kansai area through one of my tours which you could never gain otherwise. One of my favorite phrases that come from Zen Buddhism is Ichigo Ichie or this meeting-but only once in a lifetime. My interpretation goes this way: This place and this moment never cross again. Each and every good encounter, however, lingers on like the sound of a temple bell. Won't you explore a deeper world of Japanese culture in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka with me?

Shawn D.
My name is Shawn. I am American and I have been living in Japan for the last 15 years. What started as a chapter became a life, and Japan has shaped who I am in ways I am still discovering. I guide exclusively in English. After 15 years as a foreigner navigating this country, I understand what genuinely moves Western visitors, what surprises them, and most importantly, the difference between a quality experience and a tourist trap. I will always steer you toward the real thing. I am based in Kobe, a city that most tourists fly straight past on their way to Osaka and Kyoto. That is their loss and your opportunity. Kobe is a relaxed, walkable port city with a character unlike anywhere else in Japan. Yes, the Kobe beef is world class. But Kobe is also one of the most historically rich and visually beautiful cities in the country, without the overwhelming crowds you will find elsewhere. I know this city and this region deeply. From Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka are both reachable in well under an hour by train. That puts you at the center of the best region in Japan without the noise and chaos of staying in a major tourist hub. I cover the full Kansai region and beyond, from famous landmarks and cultural sites to the strictly local places most visitors never find. I am also available for early morning and late evening tours. Some of the most memorable experiences in Japan happen when the crowds are gone. Every tour is planned around you. Tell me what matters and I will build the day around it. Come find out what Japan means to you. Shawn

Nicolas I.
Hello, my name is Nicolas. I’m originally from Argentina and have been living in Japan for the past eight years, proudly calling Osaka my home. Being married to a Japanese wife has given me a strong personal connection to the culture and a deeper understanding of everyday life here, far beyond what most visitors get to see. Tourism has always been my passion and profession, and I have spent these years working in the tour industry, helping travelers discover Japan in a meaningful and enjoyable way. I love sharing not only the famous landmarks, but also the small details, stories, and local experiences that make this country so special. My goal is to make every tour feel relaxed, authentic, and memorable—like exploring Japan with a knowledgeable friend who truly loves living here. I look forward to welcoming you and showing you this amazing place I now call home.

Kyoko K.
Hi, I’m Kyoko. I was born and raised in Kobe. After completing my education, I spent 25 years in London, where I taught piano and enjoyed a wonderful life in England. I returned to Kobe a couple of years ago to care for my elderly father and began a new chapter in my career as a tour guide. Kobe has recovered beautifully since the major earthquake 30 years ago. It is much quieter than Kyoto and Osaka, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy your time in Japan. I would love to show you the beautiful scenery of Kobe, from its mountains to its seaside. My typical tour starts at the herb gardens on the mountaintop, continues through the city center and Chinatown, and finishes at Harborland, a famous spot for photos and stunning views. It would be my pleasure to help you create wonderful memories in Kobe. I look forward to welcoming you on my tour.

“Pop culture tour of Kobe”
We booked with Kazu for an early evening tour our first night in the area. We had our young adult son with us and wanted to see what the young people like to see. Vintage clothing, records, food, etc. Kazu organized everything and selected some unique curated shops, food stalls, and finally dinner reservations for us. Kazu was well prepared, professional, and easy to be with. He has a youthful energy and we all enjoyed the tour.

Thank you very much for joining the tour the other day! We visited a lot of places that I thought you might be interested in as time allowed, so I imagine it was a rather busy tour, but I’m very glad to hear that you enjoyed it.

“What a beautiful experience!”
Dear Natsuko, Thank you for the wonderful day in Kobe and for the many beautiful moments. From the very beginning, it felt to me as if we had known each other for years —that’s not something to take for granted, and it’s clearly a gift you have. As you know, the Herb Gardens and the time and experience with Matsuda-san deserve a review of their own—thank you for that as well. And finally, thank you for your understanding and patience with my arrival. I thought that after so many weeks in Tokyo I had mastered Japan’s train system—but I was clearly mistaken. I’m sorry for keeping you waiting. Thank you for everything — thumbs up, 5/5!

Hi Stefan, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I also felt as if we had known each other for years. It felt like strolling around Kobe with a long-lost friend. I was happy to see you enjoying the shortcake at the Herb Gardens and witnessing your joy while tasting the real Kobe beef at the restaurant. I truly look forward to seeing you again. Next time, let’s explore the harbor area together!
