Hi, I am Rika. I am in Kobe city now. Welcome to Rika’s personal guide tour! I was born in China, group up in Japan, high school was an English course, and majored in Business Administration at Kobe University, so I speak Chinese, Japanese and English! I like working with people. I worked for a major trading company, competing for first or second place in Japan, for over 10 years. I am currently working for a share houses company. The company manages more than 12 share houses in Kobe. About half of our residents are foreigners from different contries. I really enjoy talking with the people who have various backgrounds around the world. Kobe is a very convenient place with easy access to Osaka, Nara and Kyoto! It is famous for its traditional culture, old history, wonderful nature and delicious food, like Kobe beef as you know! So far I have two main tours available. One is” Eating Tour” at Higashiyama shopping street. Higashiyama Shopping Street is known as “Kobe's kitchen” and has long been loved by Kobe citizens. You can enjoy the local food tour and learn some survival Japanese while you are at it! The other one is Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, which is one of the world's longest suspension bridges! We can go to the top of the Bridge, 300m over the sea, and enjoy the panoramic view from the top! Let’s get together to enjoy real Japan! I am waiting for you!

I returned to Kobe a couple of years ago to care for my elderly father and began a new chapter in my career as a tour guide. Kobe has recovered beautifully since the major earthquake 30 years ago. It is much quieter than Kyoto and Osaka, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy your time in Japan. I would love to show you the beautiful scenery of Kobe, from its mountains to its seaside. “Natsuko is Amazing!!!”
First off, Natsuko is truly an amazing person. She is a very warm and caring person, and her great personality really shows. Natsuko is truly a "people person" and my family quickly bonded with her. My daughter is typically quiet and reserved, especially around strangers. Natsuko got my daughter to sing the Winnie the Pooh song with her. As a parent, some of our best moments in life are when we see our children do something out of the norm and totally unexpected. As for the tour I do appreciate how Natsuko was able to adjust the tour as the day went by. Our actual itinerary looked completely different from the one listed/suggested. We visited Nunbiki Herb Garden, Ikuta Shrine, and had a Kobe beef lunch (one of the best meals ever - the tomato dish was the best tomato I have ever eaten). But then we deviated as we looked for a McDonald's so that my son could look for a limited edition Gundam cup, and then Natsuko took us to her favorite shops so that we could buy Kobe's best Omiyage (snacks). Our day ended at Kobe Harborland (for shopping) and Meriken Park (Be Kobe sign). Overall, we were very blessed to have found Natsuko and were very happy to have her guide us around Kobe. My daughter is willing to return the favor and show you and your family around Disneyland here in California if you ever come to the USA.

“Great guide and tour of Kobe”
We had a great tour with Kaori in Kobe. Kaori met us at Shin-Kobe station and helped get our luggage stored before we set off on a walking tour. Kaori’s bubbly personality and passionate commentary were great, and we had a wonderful time wandering through the different parts of Kobe right down to the waterfront and Meriken Park. Kaori’s lunch spot recommendation was spot on as well. As we headed back to the Station, she took us on a walk close by up to several beautiful waterfalls. A great way to finish off our tour. Thanks again Kaori-San for a great tour!

“a nice and interesting day”
