Hello! I'm Steve and I’m originally from Sydney, Australia, but I’ve lived in Kumamoto City for the past 28 years. I hold a Gold license. I’d love to take you on a tour of some of the region’s most historic and stunning sites. I took my profile picture on the balcony of my home, which sits high on a hill, offering great views of the city both day and night, with majestic mountain ranges in the distance. I was a school teacher here for 25 years, starting in Japanese public schools before transitioning to an American institution. I understand that when traveling abroad, many people prefer a local tour guide. While I wasn’t born in Japan, after nearly three decades here, I consider myself as local as it gets! Not only can I share insights about the local culture, but I can also offer a unique perspective as a foreigner who has grown to love this country as my own. With our comfortable 4x4 full leather interior SUV, we’ll explore hidden gems that typical tour buses can’t reach, making your experience even more special. On our way to the sites, I’ll describe anything that catches your eye so you don’t miss a thing. I know that returning back from a great trip can feel like the end of something special, so if there’s anything I can do to make the ride more enjoyable, just let me know. On the way back, feel free to play any music you like on the BOSE sound system in the car.

I had worked for the Japan's biggest travel agency JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) for 35 years as a tour escort for Japanese. I visited 68 countries and of course all over Japan as well. So I’m familiar with almost all of the tourist attractions in Japan. More over I’m also a professional magician now. I’m a member magician of The Magic Castle in Hollywood in US. That's why I made a decision to become an English tour guide. I acquired a tour guide license issued by the Japanese government with a lot of hard work in 2016 and I started from the following year. I work as an English guide approximately 130 days a year. My wife is physically disabled, and I usually care for her. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I receive home care and bathing services, so I am unable to go out during the day as I have to prepare for and clean up afterwards. I am available to guide on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I can take up to four people sightseeing in my private car. I am available at any time during evening tours, such as YATAI tours. I look forward to hearing from you. Please ask me first. If it is possible.

Hello! I'm Jun, your adventure travel guide. My fascination with the nature of Kyushu began when I was a child and my parents took me to the beautiful Aso mountains and their vast green grasslands. That view remains my starting point to this day. Having been born and raised in Kyushu and having studied its nature, history, and culture, I will guide you to the "real Kyushu" that you won't find in guidebooks. From the majestic volcanic landscapes of Aso to the mystical gorges of Takachiho and the hot spring–rich lands of Beppu, Kyushu is alive with breathtaking natural wonders around every corner. It's the history and culture of the people who have lived alongside this nature that make this place truly special. My tours offer more than just scenic views. Through interactions with locals, experiences of traditional food culture, and activities in nature, I deliver journeys where you can experience Kyushu with your whole being. Only by learning how the land was formed, hearing from the people who live here, and setting foot on the land yourself will you have a truly memorable experience. Over the past several years, I have gained experience leading mountain hiking and rural walking tours as a registered outdoor guide of Oita. I have completed Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) training. Come discover Kyushu's charm with me and create a memory that will stay with you forever!

Hello, I'm Saki. I am absolutely thrilled to be your guide to the enchanting wonders of Amakusa, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, and the broader Kyushu region. As a native of Amakusa, Kumamoto, I have a deep connection to this area, having lived until completing high school. After spending 15 exciting years in Osaka and Tokyo for university and work, I couldn't resist the magnetic pull of my hometown and returned to Amakusa, realizing just how irresistibly charming it truly is. With my National Licensed English Speaking Guide certification earned in 2018, I've led tour excursions, private tours, Christian tours, and FAM trips, primarily in the Kyushu area. Additionally, my experiences traveling for business and leisure in Europe and various Asian countries have allowed me to immerse myself in diverse cultures and meet incredible people from all walks of life. Kyushu, without a doubt, harbors countless hidden treasures waiting to be uncovered and popular tourist destinations that will leave you in awe. It is my heartfelt goal to share the allure of this region with people from all corners of the globe. So, prepare for an unforgettable journey as we embark on an adventure together. I look forward to meeting you!

“Amazing One Piece Experience”

We had such an amazing time exploring the One Piece statues with Steve! One thing that really surprised us was how much better the experience became by having a guide. Not only did we save a lot of time getting from one statue to another, but Steve made the whole journey so much more interesting by sharing stories about the region, its history, and little details we would have never known on our own. As huge One Piece fans, this was already something we were really looking forward to during our trip to Japan, and Steve made it even more memorable We couldn't recommend him enough!

“Knowledgeable and friendly ”

Came in essentially just expecting a driver but was quickly and pleasantly surprised. He's very knowledgeable of kumamoto and stepped right in to take pictures and in the drive times spoke to us about local history. I will definitely recommend to anyone who i may know that wants to do this tour.

“The best guide of my entire life”

Everything was quick and well organized. We had plenty of time to look at the statues and take photos, and the guide shared interesting stories about the city and the prefecture. We came away with only the nicest impressions. Highly recommended to anyone who loves One Piece.
