Had a great day in Kyoto. We were met ar our hotel and shown some amazing sights. Lunch at a secret spot was delicious.

“Akira is fantastic!”

Akira is a fantastic tour guide. We had one day to see Kyoto, and booked very last minute. He arrived to our hotel early and the van was clean and luxurious. He put everyone at ease with his good humor. Akira entertained us with wonderful history, insightful stories and memorable places. While none of us guessed the correct number of rocks at the zen garden, we understood the meaning thanks to Akira! It almost made us feel sad for the tourists who weren't lucky enough to have him as their guide. We often hire private tour guides when traveling, but Akira is in a class of his own.

“Kyoto day tour”

Kaori met us at the cruise terminal with a warm smile and we immediately felt a connection. It was our first day in Japan and we were a bit overwhelmed in the very busy railway stations and subways so we were really thankful to have Kaori there to help us negotiate our way around and to show us how and where to get tickets. That really helped to give us the confidence to use the rail system ourselves in the days that followed. Kaori's English was very good and she told us lots of interesting information about the places we visited. She took us to the Gion District, Kenninji Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizu Dera Temple and the Fushimi Inari Shrine, all of which were on our 'to do' list. We had lunch of sobo noodles with chicken and tempura prawns in a lovely authentic restaurant which Kaori knew of and it was delicious. We really appreciated Kaori's guidance throughout the day. She was very chatty and easy to relate to and she delivered us back to the cruise terminal at the end of our tour. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kaori as a guide.

Thank you very much for your comment of our tour :) That day, cruise port were so busy with many people and we know only name and nationality each other,,,, but I immediately could find you :) Yes, some how we had some special connection ;)) I like your travel style! Not running spot to spot, enjoy the moment and try to understand our culture and life.
