8 hour tour worth every penny!

Maru was quick to respond to my request and assembled a nice customized itinerary for our day in Tokyo together. The shrine we visited was incredible! She has good local knowledge and is very personable and friendly. Maru's English is excellent and she was able to help me put together a few key phrases that I used during the rest of my stay in Japan. I would highly recommend her!

Very knowledgeable and friendly

I was interested in seeing local sites and exploring Kamakura's ancient history while hiking through the area, but I don't speak Japanese. Hiring a local tour guide was a must. I checked a lot of guide user profiles and felt Maru was a good match based on my interests. She was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. She arranged a tour to see exactly what I asked in the timetable I had available. Even better, she was able to make it easy to enjoy the day. The best part was her flexibility. She asked what I was interested in and made that happen. I am not someone who enjoys shopping. I've had so many tour guides in the past who will stop at a shop and just say, "Ok, I'll be back in a hour, go shopping now." Maru asked me if I wanted to go shopping or buy souvenirs. I said that wasn't my thing and that was it. She never asked again and made sure we did the things I asked to do. That is what makes her an exceptional tour guide in my book.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review, Steven! I always make it a point to create customized tour for my clients depending on their personality. I am really pleased you enjoyed your experience in Kamakura. We walked a lot visiting some temples and shrines, enjoyed Kamakura’s specialty, Shirasu Don for lunch. Thank you for the wonderful day! I’d be glad if I could guide you in Tokyo or other cities next time! Please have great business meetings in Tokyo! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. ? Maru

1/2 day customized tour

She was extremely personable and very knowledgeable on the areas we wanted to visit (including ease of getting around on the train/subway system). We felt like we’d known her for much longer than just having met that morning. She met us at the train station nearest Tokyo Disney and we took public transportation to see the main Olympic stadium, then to Meiji Jingu, and finally to Shibuya where we walked the “Scramble” and then off to a cat cafe and to the American chain restaurant “Outback Steakhouse”. Had a wonderful time and would definitely hire her again! Thanks Maru ?

Thank you for the wonderful review for me, Dan! I felt exactly the same way when I saw you at the station. You and Camille had big smiles and I had a feeling I am going to enjoy very much spending half a day with you. We visited some places in the west side of Tokyo and I believe you understand how lively this part of Tokyo is like. I hope I will be able to guide you to the east part of Tokyo or other places next time. Thank you so much again!

Kamakura is a very healing city, which became the capital of Samurai at the end of the 12th century, and has a lot of temples where we can see lovely flowers. We will ride a train for approximately an hour or so from Tokyo/Yokohama/Kawasaki area to visit there. Appreciating the flowers, some temples and shrines, we can also enjoy the beautiful twilight seaview.

Private tour "My favorite Kamakura"

KAMAKURA! What a perfect place to escape from daily bustlness. The town famous for zen-buddhism and as the first de-facto capital ever established by samurais gives us splendid time to enjoy the rustic but solemn atmosphere.

My favorite Kamakura!

Kamakura

I've been a guide of Kamakura for a long time, having noticed that the nature adds an extra tastes to the peaceful atomosphere of temples and shrines in Kamakura. Plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, azalea, hydrangea, roses, crape myrtles, colored leaves, moss, etc and Mt. Fuji! Let me choose some best spots by the time of the year!! Green tea and 'Masamune' swordsmith is included in this tour too.
