Departing from Kyoto Station and head to La Colina Omihachiman, famous for Baumkuchen and eating freshly made Baumkuchen. After that we will go to Hikone Castle and tour the inside of the castle. Also try some Omi beef for lunch. We will experience making decorative works at Kurokabe Square. Admire the scenery along the Metasequoia trees and return to Kyoto Station.

Visit the manufacturer of mentaiko which is a side dish made by fermenting pollock ovaries (cod roe/cod roe) that are salted and aged, then marinated in a seasoning liquid consisting of chili peppers, kelp, sugar, and soy sauce after removing the salt.

Hikone Castle consists of a three-story chalk tower with beautiful Lake Biwa in the background, but the castle, surrounded by two moats, has remained almost as it was in the past.

We will eat at a restaurant that serves Omi beef near Hikone Castle.
Kurokabe Square Artwork
Kurokabe Square, known as the City of Glass, is an exotic place lined with black-painted buildings. Try your hand at glass crafting. Create an original piece in 1 hour.
Metasequoia Tree Line
Approximately 500 metasequoia trees were planted over a 2.4km area, and the number of visitors increased as the area resembled the location used in a famous TV drama. The beautiful scenery of changing leaves in autumn is a sight to behold.

“Great time with Hiro”
Soo much to see with limited time in Osaka. We booked Hiro for 2 days and it was worth it. Hiro was knowledgeable and very accommodating, he would even adjust our schedule on the fly as our kids enjoyed some of the attractions (such as Osaka Castle, aquarium). We also requested Hiro to make a booking for car service and he made the arrangements for us so it was very seamless. Would highly recommend Hiro and we will definitely be back in Osaka.

“Hiroki is an excellent guide!”
The assistance that our family needed during our Osaka vacation was, perhaps, a bit unusual. We were attending a concert at the Osaka Dome, and wanted to be certain that our travel from hotel to and from the concert venue would go smoothly in the midst of a crowd of 55,000+ concert attendees. It turned out that we didn't receive our concert tickets from the vendor in the timeframe we expected, so Hiroki helped us to sort that situation out -- he really saved the day for us, because without his assistance with our tickets we would not have been able to attend the concert! (3) Kinkakuji temple (the Golden Pavilion) (World Cultural Heritage Site) The history of this temple began when the third Shogun of the Muromachi period acquired a tract of land in this area from a powerful statesman in 1397 and built a villa of his own to entertain the Emperor and members of the nobility. The upper two levels of the temple are covered with pieces of gold foil and are shining brilliantly against the background of the rich greenery. The pond in the foreground reflects the golden structure. It looks like the materialization of Pure Land of Buddha in this world. In addition, on the top of the golden structure is the shining phoenix.
