Superb View Spots in Kyoto Part 3
Kyoto is covered by mountains for 3 sides besides South, and many temples, shrines and gardens are located at the foot of mountains on the East Side
Kyoto Culture started on the West Side and moved to the East Side.
I plan this tour to observe several scenic places from North to South on the Eastern Side mountains.
Silver Temple, Philosopher's path, Nanzenji Temple, Murinan Garden, Nishiki Market and Fushimi Inari Shrine.
Meeting Point
At your hotel in Kyoto or JR Kyoto Station
Starting from your Hotel or JR Kyoto Station
Picking up you at your hotel or at JR Kyoto Station, and will have a briefing of Kyoto history and culture before starting tour.
Silver Temple
Silver temple is calm and make you feel Japanese Hospitality which is connected with Wabi Sabi spirits.
Temple was built by shogun, and he enjoyed Zen-meditation and enjoyed his retired life.
This temple is not gorgeous and brilliant but shows us inner richness of Japanese Culture。
The sand garden is also particular one which reflect moon-lights.
Philosopher's path
This path is abt. 1 kilometer long from Silver temple to Nanzenjj Temple area, where one Japanese Philopher walked everyday.
This path is located along small canal, and you can find some historic temples along the path.
Please walk this path, feeling Japanese calm and breathe negative ions.
Nanzenji Temple
This temple was built by imperial prayer, 700 years ago, as a Zen-Buddhist temple
Their main gate is huge and fantastic, called "Sanmon" then please go upstairs and overview Kyoto City.
There is a mythology that Great Thief "Ishikawa Goemon" shouted "Great View, Great View" from upper floor of this gate.
Murin-an Garden
This garden was landscaped and designed by Jihei Ogawa, famous Garden Master by order of Old Statemen, 100 years ago.
This garden equips all beauty elements of Japanese Garden.
Sound of Water, covering with mosses, Borrowed scenery from the background, controlling the height of trees, water fall and so on.

Lunch
Let's have a lunch, Japanese local food,, sandwich or Ramen, that is your option
Nishiki Market
They have a history for more than 400 years, where natural fountain flowed out abundantly and it helped to start fish-market here.
The best ingredients were gathered to Kyoto and delivered to Emperor Palace and restaurants in Kyoto
It is said that when Kyoto people get extra money, they would come to Nishiki-market, and get high-quality food for dinner.
Fushimi Inari Shrine
Fushimi Inari Shrine was built for good harvest, business prosperity, 1200 years ago and has been for commoners and merchants.
Japanese are sure that they can get a blessings from Japanese Gods by offering prayers here.
During first 3 days of New Year. 3 million peoples visit here.
Please remember before getting inside of Shrine, as below,
You will find some statues of Fox, and they are messengers of Gods.
Vermillion color of Shinto Gate will expel evils and invite happiness.
Inside Front Shinto Gate, it is sacred precinct area.

This is walking tour however if you do not want to walk, I would take a taxi at some spots.
Kyoto is international sight-seeing city, then please keep in mind as below
