About Tour Guide Michiko N.
Hello, I am Michiko , the same name of Japanese ex-Empress. I am a government certified tour guide.
I have lived in Nagoya ( located between Tokyo and Osaka) for 35 years since I got married.
I worked for JAL as a flight attendant in my 20's. After retiring JAL, I have taught English and Mathematics to junior and senior high school students for 20 years.
I love traveling very much both domestically and abroad and enjoy walking around each city and talking with local people so that I can find out the way how to they live and think about their life. It's quite a fun for me. I also love hiking and mountain climbing in spring, summer and autumn, and skiing in winter.
In the countryside of Japan there still remain those farming and fishery villages where people have been rooted in their land and community, living the way handed down from generation to generation.
You can also enjoy the original Japanese landscape there.
Why don't you get out of the hustle and bustle of your busy life and have a rest rich in nature in the rural Japan enjoying beautiful scenery and local food.
I'm waiting for you!

“Tour of the Sekigahara battlefield and museum from Nagoya”
We had a truly wonderful day with Michiko on our recent holiday to Japan. From the point of pick up at our hotel in Nagoya to our return their that evening everything ran smoothly. Michiko was so knowledgeable about this period of history which was just what we wanted. She was such an enjoyable companion that day and we had so many laughs together. The battlefield and museum are well worth visiting. The museum has some fabulous displays of Samurai armour and artefacts and there is a really good cafe there too. The battlefield site is easily accessible - we hired electric bikes from the museum. Thank you Michiko for giving us such a great day!

“Nagoya tour”
We loved meeting Michiko and her sweet husband. They picked us up in their personal van and drove us to all of the sites. They provided us with cold water and fans. She was so knowledgeable and interested in all the places we visited. I specifically wanted to see the recently opened sword museum in Nagoya. She had not been to see it before my request. So, she did a pre-tour visit by herself to get familiar with this fantastic museum. We had the best time with her. You couldn't have a better tour guide than Michiko. We were so lucky to have had her as our guide in Nagoya.

Dear Tom, Thank you very much for choosing me as your tour guide in Nagoya. I am deeply grateful and honored to receive such a finest review from you. You are so generous and thoughtful and above all, you are so knowledgeable about sword and gun and I learned a lot from you!! I really appreciate the special lessons you gave me in Token museum. I’m getting to be interested in Japanese Samurai swords, but not so much in guns, sorry. I really had a delightful time touring in Nagoya together with such wonderful people like you, Sherry, Janet and Chris. Please remember me to them. Hopefully we could meet again! Thanks again. Best regards, Michiko Nagasaki

Nagoya Golden Tour
Nagoya is the 4th largest city in Japan with a population of about 2.2 million. I would like to guide you Nagoya Castle, Osu Kannon Temple, old shopping streets, Oasis21 and Nagoya TV Tower. Nagoya Castle was first built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612. Afterwards it was burnt down in 1945 and it was reconstructed in 1959. You can see Golden Shachi on the both ends of the top roof. Furthermore the Honmaru (the keep of a castle) reconstructed in 2013 is open to the public, too.
