The base of The Mt. Maruyama Hiking Trial

We will begin our hike of Mt. Maruyama. The mountain is 225meters(738 feet above sea level). The hike will be about 2.5 km round trip and will take about 60minutes(or less) one way. From the top of Mt. Maruyama, you will get panoramic views of Sapporo below. Lunch could be on the summit or at a nearby restaurant later opon returning to the base(decide during the hike). This hike is great all year round but June-July is considered the best time because the weather is cool and comfortable. A spring hike provides the cherry blossoms whereas autumn provides stunning foliage during the hike up to the summit. Finally, this hike is considered easy to moderate and great for beginners and casual hikers.

At The Summit of Mt. Maruyama

By 10a.m.(if not alittle before) arrive at the top/summit of Mt. Maruyama. Enjoy the views, sit and relax and maybe have an enjoyable box lunch at the summit. NOTE: if no lunch at the summit, lunch will be eaten at a nearby restaurant later, after completing the hike down the mountain.

About Tour Guide Scott E.

I am an American male bi-lingual (English & Japanese)tour guide based/living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I have lived here several decades and I very familiar with the best places to see in Sapporo and outside of Sapporo/ other areas of Hokkaido. I can take you to the standard/well known sightseeing spots as well as "off the beaten path spots" that many overseas guests are unaware of. My tours are fun, on schedule, informative and transportation-wise very timely and smooth. Less time commuting and more time at location enjoying each point of interest. I have many years experience guiding tours in Sapporo and out to other areas of Hokkaido as well. Most of my tours are 1 day tours usually starting at 8 or 9a.m. and concluding at 6p.m. I basically use public transportation(buses, JR trains, and subways). I do own my own personal car and for guided tours with only 1 guest or small groups 2-3 guests, my private car is available for use. Meet up locations is usually at Sapporo Station in the morning but I can arrrange to meet you in the lobby of your hotel if requested. I look forward to guiding you here in Sapporo and throughout Hokkaido. Tour guide Scott. Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
