The Historical Village of Hokkaido
The Historical Village of Hokkaido is an open-air museum in Sapporo featuring over 50 authentic buildings from the Taisho/Meiji to early Showa periods (1868–1926). Set in a spacious, natural setting, the village is divided into four zones—town, fishing village, farm, and mountain village—offering a glimpse into pioneer life in Hokkaido. Visitors can explore restored homes, schools, shops, and even ride a horse-drawn trolley (seasonal), making it a unique and immersive journey into Hokkaido’s past.
Lunch at The Historical Village of Hokkaido
Lunch(1 hour) at the Historical Village of Hokkaido is available at the on-site restaurant or café, offering simple, nostalgic meals inspired by early Hokkaido settlers. Typical dishes include curry rice, ramen, and local set meals, all served in a relaxed, retro-style setting. It's a convenient and atmospheric spot to enjoy a casual meal during your visit.
The Hokkaido Museum
The Hokkaido Museum in Sapporo offers an insightful journey through the island's rich tapestry of nature, history, and culture. Located within the serene Nopporo Forest Park, the museum's exhibits span from prehistoric times to the modern era. Highlights include full skeleton reconstructions of ancient elephants that once roamed Hokkaido, traditional Ainu artifacts showcasing the indigenous culture, and interactive displays detailing the lives of early settlers. With multilingual support and engaging presentations, it's an ideal destination for visitors eager to understand Hokkaido's unique heritage.
The Sapporo Beer Museum & "beer tasting"
The Sapporo Beer Museum offers a captivating journey into Japan's brewing heritage. Housed in a historic red-brick building from 1890, the museum showcases the evolution of Sapporo Beer since its inception in 1876.
After exploring the exhibits(on the upper floors), visitors can indulge in a beer tasting at the Star Hall Restaurant. A popular choice is the 3-Beer Tasting Set including:
***Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label
***Hokkaido-exclusive Sapporo Classic
***Kaitakushi Beer, brewed using the original 1876 recipe.
Each beer comes in a good sized glass and guests can sample all three of the above mentioned beers during the "beer tasting".
Arrive back at Sapporo St.
At approximately/between 5:20-5:30pm guests will arrive back at Sapporo Staton at the original meet up point. The tour ends.

Tour Important Information
● Guests must be 20years or older for the "beer tasting".
● Wear appropriate clothing for the season.
● Walking will be required at the Historical Village. Wear good yet
comfortable walking shoes.
● Windbreaker is recommended in all seasons(except winter).
● Hat and sunglasses worn during the summer months.
This tour will be offered on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. The tour starts from Sapporo St at 9a.m. The tour will conclude at Sapporo St as well at the original meet up point.
Important message from the supplier
I am available Monday, Friday and Saturday. For other days, I would require at least a 14 day advance notice. Most of my tours would start at 8 or 9a.m. from Sapporo Station and conclude at /between 6:00 to 6:30.m. at Sapporo St(in case of the 1 Day Tour). If requested, I could meet you in the lobby of your hotel in the morning of the day of the tour as well.

I am an American male bi-lingual (English & Japanese)tour guide based/living in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I have lived here several decades and I very familiar with the best places to see in Sapporo and outside of Sapporo/ other areas of Hokkaido. I can take you to the standard/well known sightseeing spots as well as "off the beaten path spots" that many overseas guests are unaware of. My tours are fun, on schedule, informative and transportation-wise very timely and smooth. Less time commuting and more time at location enjoying each point of interest. I have many years experience guiding tours in Sapporo and out to other areas of Hokkaido as well. Most of my tours are 1 day tours usually starting at 8 or 9a.m. and concluding at 6p.m. I basically use public transportation(buses, JR trains, and subways). I do own my own personal car and for guided tours with only 1 guest or small groups 2-3 guests, my private car is available for use. Meet up locations is usually at Sapporo Station in the morning but I can arrrange to meet you in the lobby of your hotel if requested.
