Mt. Takao tour (great for kids)-
Have the kids occupied while the adults enjoy the beautiful nature, attractions and temples of Mt. Takao.We offer not only an all inclusive guided tour in English for the adults but also a "treasure map" style game for children to enjoy with prizes that include Japanese coloring books, snacks, toys and candy. We will even teach them Japanese!
We will see the Takao Museum, ride the cable car, visit the monkey and flower park, learn about the temples and on a clear day see Mt. Fuii at the summit.
Meeting Point
Takao San Guchi Train Statiom
- We will meet outside the ticket gates of the station. There is only one exit to this station.
Takao 599 Museum
After meeting an handing out the kid’s adventure packs we will walk to Takao 599 Museum.
Takao Cable Car
From the museum we will take the cable car up to the temples.
Takao Monkey Park and Flower Garden
From the cable car we will walk to the Monkey Park and Flower garden.
Takao’s Famous Temples
After the monkey park we will walk through the famous Takao Temples.
Mt. Takao Summit.
We will walk to the summit and hopefully see Mt. Fuji.
Return from the summit.
We will return from the summit and go to the cable car
Famous Mt Takao soba lunch
After returning from the summit you and your family can enjoy a famous Takao soba lunch. While enjoying, your host will make 10 Japanese postcards with pictures of your journey.

“Awesome Mt Takao and Japan Farrell!!”
The send off from Japan tour that I did with Dan was nothing short of awesome. It was clear that Dan had invested time and effort into planning a day at Mt Takao and Hachioji from start to finish, that was still flexible, not rushed and tailored to what I was looking for. Dan picked me up from Hachioji station after providing clear instructions with video and pictures on how to get there from Tokyo. After seeing some of the sights around Hachioji we then travelled up to Mt Takao. Mt Takao itself is amazingly picturesque and is easy to enjoy without the typical tourist crowds. A cable car ride up to the monkey park, flower garden and Yakuoin Temple was itself a highlight and definitely recommend stopping for some dango at the top. Dan provided loads of information into Japanese culture and way of life, including insights into differences with western norms. A definite bonus to having a guide that has experienced both. After a fun and fascinating day, Dan dropped me at the bus stop and ensured I was safely on the correct one! I can’t recommend Dan enough. As well as a day taking in beautiful Mt Takao and Hachioji, I gained such an insight into Japanese culture and way of life. Dan is friendly, funny and accommodating and genuinely wants to give the best experience he can. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Japan!!

Didn’t know what to expect, but what a fun day. I’m new to Japan and was looking for something to do. Dan it only knew the area well but was able to point me in the direction of many other local gems. Very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and seems to have this place figured out. Twice on our tour we were stopped by families from the area. The kids wanted to say hello to Dan-san like a local celebrity. Appears he has been a local favorite for some time now. I recommend Dan for anyone visiting Japan on vacation or recently relocated on a more log term program. Knows the area well, willing to go above and beyond to make your visit/stay more enjoyable. Looking forward to him adding tours in the future to this app.

“My Boys Loved the Tour!”
Great time seeing the temples and nature of Mt. Takao. I really appreciated the gifts and games from Dan. My boys can be a bit of a handful and they don't like soba noodles so Dan suggested a burger place down the road. They loved it. All in a great experience. Thanks Dan!
