Shiga Kogen Ski Resort

Located in Nagano, close to the hot spring resort and the famous Jigokudani Monkey Park, Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is Japan's largest and highest ski resort, with 18 ski resorts, more than 90 ski runs and 48 chairlifts. The total length of the ski runs is 80 kilometers, the longest in Japan. The ski resorts are interconnected by ski runs and shuttle buses, and a chairlift pass (package ticket) allows you to use each ski resort. With its vast ski resorts and the longest ski season, it is the perfect place to experience Japan's ski adventure. Nagano was the host of the 1998 Winter Olympics and is a particularly popular outdoor sports destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Nagano, known as the "Top of Japan", has the highest peaks in Japan. Tsumago-juku and Narai are like remote villages pulled straight from samurai movies, and the local culture has been preserved intact for hundreds of years. The noisy festivals, the solemn black walls of Matsumoto Castle, and the simple and pure mountain leisure atmosphere of the hot spring villages are also intact. Karuizawa has a relaxed metropolitan atmosphere and a variety of peculiarly shaped villas. Nagano also has other famous attractions such as Zenkoji Temple, Kamikochi, Togakushi, Bessho Onsen, Daio Wasabi Farm, Hakuba Valley(Hakuba International Ski Resort), Nozawa Onsen Snow Resort,Senjojiki Cirque, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Achi Star Village, Obuse, Venus Highway, etc.
