About Tour Guide Akira S.
Hello. I'm Akira.S. I've just finished working as a mentor for new young teachers of public junior high schools after long time career as a teacher. I’m so interested in guiding popular sightseeing spots and also hidden areas in and around Tokyo to you. I love this job because I have a lot of chances to meet nice people from various countries. I'm really looking forward to meeting persons interested in Japanese culture and history like YOU. I really hope you touch Japanese cultures, including Japanese cuisines. I’m coming up with a tour plan based on your interest.

“A great guide, a great person and a great experience!!”
I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Japan. There was one person who really made a difference in my trip. After much research and correspondence I selected Akira, what a great and perfect choice he was. He was easy to communicate with, and we had no problem working out a schedule that suited my interests. He met me at my hotel to the minute he promised. He took me personally everywhere I wanted to go. He is a teacher. He taught me how to navigate the city, the subways, the train system. He helped me buy my Shinkansen tickets and even took me to the train station and helped me navigate the station. He knows so much Japanese history and as a teacher really helped me understand so much. He made an enormous difference in my trip. l\ Look no further , you have found the best guide you will ever have! First time visitor. Stephen

“Amazing ghibli tour”
Akira is very kind and attention to detail. He is very reliable and even went so far as to let us know whether our hotel reservations were confirmed by going to our hotel in person. I feel like he is a member of our family. We will definitely use him again on our next trip to Japan.

Hi, Diana-san, Tomaz-san, and Isabella-san. Thank you for your nice and encouraging review. I’m very happy to receive it. Your review has made my job very rewarding and also makes me energized again, although I’m getting older. You listened to me very carefully at the bench while I was explaining Ghibli in Inokashira Park. I remember it very well. I myself had a very good time with you. When you happen to have a chance to visit here again, I’ll be pleased to help you. Thank you very much again. Take care. Best wishes to all. Akira

“I Highly Recommend a Tour with Akira-san!”
My Mom and I had the pleasure of a customized tour with Akira-san. He thoughtfully created an outing that took us to the bustling Senso-ji Temple, tranquil Nezu Shrine and a charming commoners shopping street. Before our trip to Japan, Akira-san sent informative messages explaining the history of the Senso-ji Temple and the significance of the architecture and Buddhist figures we’d see when there. Throughout our tour he shared his considerable knowledge of the places we visited and was consistently patient and kind. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of soba noddles and stopped for tea along the way. My mom and I had a lovely day and visited places and parts of Tokyo that we otherwise wouldn’t have. I highly recommend booking a tour with Akira-san.

Hi, Laurel-san, Charlotte-san. Thank you so much for the wonderful review that makes my job rewarding again! I said many times that I love this job because I have a good chance to meet many nice people like you. And this time I had another good experience thanks to your personality. Thank you again! Furthermore I had a good experience to take Uber taxi for the first time. Unfortunately, honestly I still feel dizzy, but I’m sure, I hope the smoke will heal it little by little. Of course it must cure Charlotte’s arm injury. Tomorrow you’re leaving Japan. I hope you have a safe, nice, and long flight. Thank you for everything again and again! I’d like to keep in touch. Best regards, Akira

Kagurazaka Hill Road & Remains of Approach to Shogun’s Castle and Moat
Is it a pond or river? It used to be an outer moat or canal to protect Edo Castle until about 150 years ago. The then Edo, present Tokyo, used to be the seat of Edo Shogunate. Kagurazaka area is located around here, and the nostalgic atmosphere still retains. You can enjoy walking along a shopping street of unique taste, lined by numerous earthenware, boutiques, Japanese sweets, and souvenir shops.

Excursion off the Beaten Track in the Suburbs of Tokyo
We will explore the western suburbs of Tokyo in this tour. If you are looking for something different from the crowded tourist attractions in the central part of Tokyo, you will enjoy exploring the western suburbs of Tokyo. I recommend this tour not to first timers but to repeaters who have been to famous places in Tokyo. You will discover traditional spots in the beautiful environment of the suburbs. Weather permitting, lunch in a local restaurant can be replaced by a picnic lunch in a park.
