Ueno is a popular district of Tokyo. The open market of Ameyayokocho, a black market that appeared at the end of the war that sold candy and American products. The first public park in Japan, there are seven museums, a zoo and many temples and shrines. Yanaka is a residential district of Tokyo that escaped the bombs, known for its Machiya-style wooden houses, a large cemetery where the last shogun is buried, Buddhist temples and the Yanaka Ginza shopping street.

Ameyokocho shopping street
This is a popular shopping street where you can get good deals.You can find dried fruits, green tea, fish, biscuits, sportswear and many restaurants.
Ueno park
We will visit several temples and shrines:
Kiyomizu temple: Inspired by the Kiyomizudera temple in Kyoto, it houses an image of Kosodate Kannon goddess of conception.
Hanazono inari Shrine: Dedicated to Inari god of fertility, harvests and the fox, the shrine is recognizable by its tunnel of red torii.
Toshogu Shrine: Dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu the first shogun of the Edo period.
Yanaka
Then we will walk to the Yanaka district, we will discover this residential area with traditional wooden houses, the large cemetery lined with cherry trees, the Buddhist temple Tenno-ji with its Buddha statue, the Asakura sculpture museum and the Yanaka Ginza shopping street.

We will discover the nostalgic Yanaka Ginza shopping street, where you can find delicious shaved Ice, meat croquettes, fresh roasted coffee, second hand shops cat statue and more...

The tour will end at Nippori Station served by the Keisei Line as well as the JR Yamanote Line.
