Meeting Point
JR Takaoka station
- Right outside the Central Ticket Gate (2F) at JR Takaoka Station. I will be waiting for you right outside the single main ticket gate, near the "Street Piano" in the open hallway. Look for a guide holding a sign with your name on it! If you get lost, please head towards the Takaoka Station Tourist Information Center located right near the gate.
Explore Yamamachisuji District
Stroll through the beautifully preserved merchant street and admire the grand earthen storehouses.
Lunch at Craftan
Enjoy a delicious local lunch at Craftan, a charming restaurant located in a renovated heritage courtyard.
Explore Kanayamachi District
Walk down the nostalgic cobblestone streets lined with traditional lattice-windowed houses. Learn the rich history of Takaoka copperware.
Head Back to Takaoka Station
Walk back to the station together while enjoying the town scenery.
Ending Point
Arrive back at Takaoka Station for dismissal.

Takaoka make-a-wish road tour
Takaoka was established as a castle town made by a feudal lord, Maeda. The castle was originally existed at the central part of the town. Now there is a large park named "Takaoka old castle park". Including the park and two more important places are located on the same street. It is called "Negaimichi" meaning "Make-a-wish road". In the tour, we are going to collect three red ink stamps on wood planks at three important places in Takaoka. After collecting, we will write our wishes on them.
