“Knowledgeable!”
We had an incredible time in Tokyo. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly thorough. From the moment we met her, it was clear she knew everything there is to know about the history of the city, and we learned so much during our time together. She took us on the subway with ease, making sure we were comfortable with every stop, and even made sure to end each day with clear instructions on how to get to our dinner reservations. She went above and beyond by writing out detailed subway routes for us, which made navigating so much easier! We moved at an unhurried pace in a busy city, which gave us more time to absorb everything she shared. We are grateful for Keiko's dedication and all the insights she provided.

“Captivating Kyoto and More with Kanae”
Several months before our trip to Japan in March, 2025, my wife and I scheduled a three private tours of Kyoto and the surrounding environs of Shiga (Hikone, Lake Biwa, etc.) with Kanae who drove us to all the locations we visited in her car. She was extraordinarily responsive to my inquiries and sent us a proposed itinerary for our consideration and comment, offering to make any changes we desired (the plans were so well curated that we never needed to make any modifications or suggestions for other or different venues to explore). Kanae was punctual in meeting us at our ryokan each day and organized our tours in a sensible manner to make travel around Kyoto and Shiga as efficient as possible. She is knowledgeable as to the sights we visited and provided interesting information in English we could clearly understand (unless Kon'nichiwa and Arigato constitute fluency, my Japanese is woefully deficient). Most important, though, Kanae is a lovely, warm and thoughtful person (she even brought us thermoses of homemade tea to have on our travels to Shiga) and we greatly enjoyed spending time with her, talking about her family, daily life, favorite foods, and interests. My wife and I are grateful and consider ourselves incredibly fortunate that we chose to tour Kyoto and Shiga with Kanae. I am confident that you will as well.

“What an incredible time with Grant!”
We couldn't reccomend Grant A. higher as a knowledgeable, entertaining and engaging guide. He and our son Grant hit it off on subjects like Pokemon and Anime but I enjoyed learning about the language and culture. He had increidble reccomendations for eating during and outside of our day with him, even for other cities we were visiting. Don't limit him to just Tokyo but consider him for other cities on your trip as he has lived in country so long, is beyond fluent in language and culture and has led many tours around the beautiful country. He books up quick and is often booked every day so reach out to him and don't delay as you won't be dissapointed. Look forward to booking again on our next trip.

Of course, March to May is Sakura season, so tourism is high during this time. To escape the crowds, try traveling from December to February. June to August is hot and moist, and May to June is rainy.
