Yumiko O.
Hello, my name is Yumiko, and I am a licensed tour guide based in Japan. It is my pleasure to share the beauty of Japan with travelers from all over the world. I have guided many visitors through Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, and other famous destinations, as well as hidden gems that only locals know. My goal is always to create a tour that is not only informative but also enjoyable and personalized to your interests. With a warm and flexible guiding style, I love helping guests discover Japan’s traditions, history, and everyday life. Whether you are interested in temples and shrines, delicious local food, or simply strolling through charming streets, I will do my best to make your time in Japan unforgettable. I am excited to announce that I have started offering tours in Odawara! Odawara is a historic castle town located just an hour from Tokyo, famous for its impressive Odawara Castle, beautiful views of both the sea and mountains, and its role as the gateway to Hakone. In addition to exploring the castle and tasting local specialties such as fresh seafood and kamaboko (fish cakes), you can also enjoy many Instagram-worthy spots, from the scenic coastline to charming traditional houses that give a glimpse of Japan’s past. Odawara is still less crowded compared to other popular destinations, so it’s a great time to visit. I look forward to welcoming you and creating wonderful memories together!

Yacco M.
Hi, I’m Yacco, a friendly and passionate local guide. I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years. For the past several years, I’ve been guiding international visitors in Kamakura, Yokohama, and Tokyo as a volunteer, helping them discover the rich history, culture, and hidden charm of these unique cities. Traveling abroad creates once-in-a-lifetime memories, and I would love for you to fully experience the beauty and spirit of my favorite towns. I not only enjoy showing historical and modern landmarks, but also love introducing quiet backstreets, seasonal flowers, cozy cafés, and delicious local food that reflect the charm of everyday life. What I enjoy most is comparing Japanese traditions with my guests’ own cultures and histories—these conversations often lead to deep and inspiring exchanges. As your guide, I’m happy to customize tours based on your interests, whether you’re seeking unique experiences, historical insights, or local flavors. Let’s walk, talk, and create unforgettable memories together!

Yoshiko O.
Hello! My name is Yoshiko. I am a national licensed guide‑interpreter in English and Chinese, and I also speak a little French. I live in Azumino City in Nagano Prefecture, a place known for its stunning views of the Northern Japan Alps, peaceful rural scenery, and crystal‑clear spring water. Earlier in my career, I worked as a tax consultant and spent time living in England and China. Captivated by Azumino’s natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, I eventually relocated here from Tokyo. I would love to show you Azumino’s most beautiful and fascinating places, and introduce you to its culture, history, and local specialties. I am flexible with tour plans, so please feel free to share your interests and requests. I look forward to welcoming you and guiding you through Azumino and the surrounding region.

Shohei T.
Hi, I’m Shohei — a professional guitarist, singer, and private guide based in Kyoto! I was born in Japan but grew up in the city called Dublin, Ohio. My family moved there when I was 4yrs old because of my father’s was in the automotive industry. My passion for acoustic guitar led me to Boston, where I studied at Berklee College of Music. Since graduating in 2008, I’ve worked professionally as a musician, performing and teaching around the world and receiving several international awards in the acoustic fingerstyle guitar genre. In 2012, I fulfilled a long-held dream and moved back to Japan. I’ve called Kyoto home ever since. I started working as a guide in 2019, and I quickly discovered how much I enjoy sharing Japan with people from around the world. My passion for guiding was also inspired by the opportunity to accompany internationally renowned guitarists during their tours and workshops in Japan. I especially love exploring Kyoto’s temples and shrines and sharing the stories behind them. Rather than simply explaining what you see, I enjoy discussing how Buddhism, Shinto, and other traditions have shaped Japanese culture and everyday life. I also love Kyoto’s castles, palaces, gardens, traditional neighborhoods, and art. Having grown up in both Japan and the United States, I naturally have perspectives from both sides. I enjoy sharing cultural differences and helping guests understand not only what Japanese people do, but why. Most of all, I love meeting people, sharing stories, and discovering Kyoto together. Whether you want to explore famous landmarks, find hidden gems, dive deeper into Japanese history and culture, or simply enjoy a relaxed day in Kyoto, I’d be happy to show you around. If you don’t see a tour that fits your interests, feel free to message me. I’m always happy to create a private, custom experience for you! I look forward to meeting you and exploring Kyoto together!

Japan Tour Reviews
Michael W.
“Tokyo Tour (10am to 4pm)”
DAI showed up at our hotel right on time. He then talked to us about our schedule that was planned for the day. His goal was to make sure we visited as much as we possibly could. He was very nice in teaching us how to navigate the train system. WOW, that was great and fairly easy once we applied it by ourselves. DAI is super friendly and knowledgable and he explains until you understand. His English is very good. He found a wonderful restaurant for us to visit for lunch. I would recommend him to any age group, he can relate to everyone. Thank you DAI for a wonderful day! Michael and Kari Lynn

“100% Personalized Okinawa Tour – Great Guide, & A Sacred UNESCO Site”
We had an absolutely fantastic time with Toku! If you are planning a trip to Okinawa, read our full review to see why we highly recommend him. After traveling around Japan for a few months, we decided to spend some time exploring Okinawa. Toku was incredibly fast to respond to our initial inquiry. He was completely punctual, which meant our itinerary went perfectly according to plan, and he went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. Here are a few key highlights from our experience: 1) Language & Communication: Toku speaks highly professional, advanced English. Since our Japanese is unfortunately very limited, this was a massive help and made communication seamless. 2)Professionalism & Flexibility: This is a 100% personalized tour. Toku was a superb host and tailored everything to our needs—he even agreed to meet us 30 minutes early so we could make the absolute most of our day. 3) Lunch: The tour includes a stop for lunch at a fantastic venue with a wide variety of food. As a pescetarian traveling with a meat lover (Dave), we always struggle to find places to eat. Toku took us to the perfect spot that catered to both of our diets. As a bonus, it was next to a souvenir shop, which provided a perfect end to the tour. 4) Transportation: We visited the north of the island, which requires about a two-hour drive from Naha City Center. While that might sound long, Toku filled the journey with insights and fun conversation, making the time fly by. The absolute highlight, was our trek into the "Spirits Forest." The forest is a powerful, sacred, and deeply captivating place. Everything is exceptionally well-organized and maintained. It is one of the most magnificent, sacred natural sites we have ever visited, and it is easy to see why it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Thank you very much, Toku. It was a true pleasure to meet you, and we wish you the best of luck! Ana Gonzalez and David Cummin Travel Writers & Content Creators Davana World Tour

Thank you, Ana and Dave! It was a great pleasure for me, too, to be a part of your wonderful trip. And the conversation we had in the car is very memorable to me. I hope you have many more amazing adventures around the world. I wish you all the best with your travels and content creation, and I hope to see you again in Okinawa someday!

Hiro K.
Thank you so much! I had such a wonderful two days with you and your family. Your family was so much fun and full of conversation. I was supposed to be the one showing you around Aomori, but I found myself enjoying all of your stories so much that sometimes I couldn’t tell who was the host and who was the guest anymore! It truly felt like I was traveling as part of your family. And you were an excellent tour leader for your family. Whenever something unexpected happened, you were always quick to talk things through with me and make sure we found the best solution so everyone could continue enjoying the trip. I really appreciated that. There are still so many things in Aomori that I want to show you, places I want to take you, and foods I want you to try. If you ever come back to Aomori, let’s travel together again. Or who knows, maybe next time I’ll be in your hometown! Thank you again for such wonderful memories. I hope our paths cross again!
