“Amazing guide!”

We had the most wonderful day in Kanazawa with Yoji. His English was exceptional and his knowledge extraordinary. We had booked him for 7.5 hours and were worried it would be too long, but the day flew by. Yoji just strolled around the city taking us through the castle, the amazing gardens, the best coffee so far in Japan and we finally found examples of the no nails building techniques, which are just brilliant. Through the Geisha district, then the Samurai district, viewing original Samurai homes from a foot solider to the head of Samurai armies. He took us to a local soba noodle restaurant for an amazing lunch, plus a lot of fascinating little shops that you would normally disregard or walk by. It was the most memorable day, made so by a wonderful human, that has given us an insight into the Japanese culture, both past and present that will remain with us for a long time. The weather was also perfect, so a beautiful way to bring our Japanese holiday to a close.

“Haru is exceptional!”

Haru has deep roots in Kanazawa. One of the beautiful gardens we toured with her - the best we saw in all Japan in the 8 cities we visited on our trip - was owned by Haru's ancestors back in the 1600s. As a result, her pride, knowledge, and insights in the city are exemplary. Yet since she spent several years in America, her English communications skills are exceptional - she speaks clearly, interacts intentionally, and clearly enjoys being able to showcase her hometown, which we enjoyed even more than Kyoto (though that was fantastic as well). She's also prompt, flexible, and cheerful. I can't recommend her highly enough. Great tour!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! I’m incredibly happy to hear that you enjoyed Kanazawa even more than Kyoto. Just to clarify one small thing—my ancestors weren’t actually the Maeda clan! I think my pronunciation of "Maeda's ancestors" might have sounded like "My ancestors." :-) While I’m not royalty, I do love sharing the rich history of my hometown with amazing guests like you. “Great tour”

Haru was a great tour guide. Her in-depth knowledge of both Kanazawa - both its history and culture really made the day. She was well organized, and we saw everything we had hoped to.
