We had an excellent experience with Toshiyo as our guide during our visits to Nara and Osaka. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to enjoy the day comfortably and without stress. In Nara, Toshiyo guided us through the historic sites and the park with great knowledge and care, explaining the cultural and historical background in a clear and engaging way. In Osaka, he helped us experience the city’s energy, food culture, and unique character, tailoring the visit to our interests and pace. Toshiyo was always attentive, patient, and flexible, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every part of the journey. His explanations, local insights, and thoughtful recommendations added tremendous value to the experience. She is a highly professional guide and a wonderful person to travel with. “Off the Beaten Path - Customized Nara Tour”

We had specific asks for Makoto on our customized tour of Nara and he delivered! Would definitely recommend the “Off the Beaten Path,” tour of Nara to avoid the crowds and learn the rich history as it’s more than deers. Our jam packed itinerary included: ~ A stroll through a local farmers market on the route to Naramachi ~ Stopped by an Inden (deer leather with lacquer prints) shop ~ Toured Nigiwai-no-ie (traditional townhouse) ~ Meandered into Naramachi Museum where we saw the biggest dish in Japan ~ Stopped by Yotsuba for sake tasting/snacking on kaki-no-ha-zushi (pressed sushi) ~ Viewed Nakatani-dou (mochi pounding) ~ Perused a Tabi Sock store (Nara is the top producer of socks in Japan) ~ Relaxed at Rokumei Coffee and made origami deers All around amazing tour with Mak and the best way to spend our Sunday after Christmas!

It was a bit disappointing that many restaurants and shops were closed since the tour date was New Year's Holiday, but nothing would make me happier than knowing you enjoyed yourselves.
