Hi! I am Macky. I am glad to accompany you on your tour to Japan and show you the beauty and experiences Japan has to offer. I am an English tour guide and I have guided many foreign visitors around Kamakura, Nikko, Mt. Fuji and Hakone. I love sightseeing myself and I enjoy food and wine… I have been interested in intercultural exchanges and have visited many places locally and overseas alike. I have strong passion in Japanese history, culture, and geography. More than just simply showing you the stunning beauty of the places, I love to impart the cultural and historical value of each sightseeing spot. The place I can guide tourists best is Kamakura which has major shrines and temples with historical and religious details. It can be fun not only to explore Kamakura from historical point of view but also experience various activities such as hiking, rental kimono-clad walking, and learning carving technique as well as soba noodle preparation. I am flexible. My guide is unique and comprehensive. If you want to make the most out of your trip, I can show you around and make you experience Japan to the fullest. I can accommodate the tour according to your needs and preferences giving you a hassle-free, enjoyable and memorable tour. I can also take you to non tourism places such as various factory tours in Yokohama and Kawasaki City.

I am Fumie Ueda, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka, only 50 minutes away from Tokyo by Shinkansen trains. Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show you around beautiful places that I love. I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in Allentown, PA in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo for about 10 years before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth. Hello, I’m Hiroyo. I was born and brought up in Shizuoka. After living in Tokyo and in England, eventually I came back to Shizuoka. It is really a good place to live. I have been interested in Japanese traditional culture. I used to be in a Kendo(Japanese fencing) club and a Japanese flower arrangement club when I was a student. I got a degree of Sho-dan(first-dan) in Kendo, and a diploma in follower arrangement. I also got a certificate as a Japanese tea instructor. It would be my great pleasure to help you find out more about Japanese culture. Shizuoka is a lovely place to visit. It has many historical sites, traditional culture, abundant nature and a wide variety of local specialties including green tea, wasabi, many kinds of fruits and sea food fresh from the sea! You will be sure to enjoy them. Hope to see you here in Shizuoka!

Since 2007 I have been an English-speaking tour guide, visiting most of the major sightseeing spots in Japan with international travelers. At the same time I have been working as an translator, mainly dealing with technical documents. Shizuoka prefecture has a number of spots for sightseeing, but they have not been fully covered in English-language travel books or on the Internet. So, as a local tour guide, through the TripleLights services, I am hoping to introduce some of the attractiveness of this region to the international visitors.

Greeting from Izu ,shizuoka prefecture, a city just 1.5 hours from Tokyo. I am Hiroko Inamura, a national licensed tour guide. I was born in Numazu and live in Nirayama, located at north part of Izu Peninsula, surrounded by beautiful seas and mountains, and at the top of it all, Mt.Fuji: a truly lovely and amazing Mountain. I am lucky to see Mt.Fuji from my room everyday ! Since I studied and lived in Perth, Australia and Barcelona, Spain, and traveled over 35 countries, I am fluent in English and do speak Spanish that is very useful fie me to communicate with guests from abroad. I love travelling and look for something different and special to introduce for my guests that they haven't experienced before. Izu is the place if you want something more! And yet we Japanese seem to have kept it to ourselves: you see only few foreign visitors here! Visiting the top and center of Izu areas, you constantly meet Japanese traditional and rural world , visit to a wasabi water-field, it's great fun!- and you can experience "wasabi picking " or "wasabi pickle making " during the season, you can do "Japanese tea picking" , ,wearing the special traditional tea picking Kimono! There are many more attractive sits such as Banjo Fall, Joren fall in Amagi and lots more to make your day memorable. This area is great during the seasons of autumn leaves and cherry blossom. And what you can't miss our on is a visit to the oldest hot-springs resort in Izu: the really beautiful Shuzenji. Walking around the town , , ,exploring historical and traditional sits and the grate Bamboo Grove Path remind you of "the good old days". This is the town described as "the little Kyoto "and designated as one of the best visiting place in Japan by the Michelin guide book. I have just mentioned a few of many other attractive places in this area . I am very happy to introduce you what you can see,do and eat here in Izu and its surrounding areas and I promise you to have wonderful memories !

Best Tour Guide Ever!

I had the pleasure of booking a tour with Fumie during our visit to Ito and Atami in Japan, and I can't recommend her highly enough. From the start, Fumie took the time to ask all the right questions to tailor the tour to our specific needs and interests. Her communication was prompt and clear, making it easy to finalize all the details of our itinerary. Fumie was incredibly organized and well-prepared, providing us with useful flyers and brochures about the places we would visit. Her extensive knowledge of the area added so much depth to the experience, and she was thorough in sharing interesting facts and history with us. Her English skills were excellent, ensuring we never had any language barriers. What impressed me the most was how she seamlessly adapted when our plans changed. Despite the shift, Fumie handled it effortlessly, ensuring the tour continued smoothly and without any disruption—almost as if the change was part of the original plan. In addition to the tour, Fumie also provided professional interpreter services during our business meetings with other companies, and her support in that area was invaluable. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, flexible, and highly professional guide and interpreter, I wholeheartedly recommend Fumie. She made our experience unforgettable, and I will certainly book her again for future tours and interpretation services.

Hi Taryn san, Thank you so much for taking your time to write such a great review. You must be very busy. I feel flattered by the praise, and it was my pleasure to be a part of your productive tour this time. I look forward to seeing you again in the near future! Fumie

Even a professional like me has been stunned!!!!!

I am a professional chef and a food journal writer, obviously, all the normal trips will not interested me at all. This wasabi field trip with Ms. Yasuko was an extraordinary one as we had a chance to see the process of how the wasabi was cleaned, prepared and packed. I was impressed. The wasabi farms were also gorgeous to see!

Thank you so much for an excellent review. I'm glad to hear that you could enjoy visiting Wasabi field and farm in Izu. Also, I appreciate being able to introduce to you IKADABA in Izu City.

Stunning north/central Izu!

We went on a half-day, guided tour of north/central Izu and can honestly say it was an amazing tour! Yasuko-san was a terrific guide who provided a very appealing itinerary that included, among other things, a tour of waterfalls and wasabi fields. She communicated with us on a regular basis leading up to the tour and readily accommodated us based on our interests and time constraints. She met us promptly at the train station on the day of the tour and assisted us in securing a chartered taxi ahead of time. Yasuko-san and the driver took us to outstanding and remote points of interest that we would’ve never discovered on our own. The Izu region is simply beautiful with an abundance of nature, charm, and history. Bottom line, we highly recommend hiring Yasuko-san as a guide. She was warm, personable, and very professional. Moreover, we highly recommend going with this company as they helped resolve an initial problem with another guide and subsequently referred us to Yasuko-san.

Thank you so much for an excellent review. I'm happy to hear you had a great time on my tour. There were few tourists on the contrary it rained, we could see more water from the waterfalls, too. I agree that our driver offered really good service, so I'll recommend other guides to use that. Thank you so much end enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan.
