This was our second day with Saki and we couldn't help but feel a sense of how she was an enthusiastic local offering us a glimpse into her favourite stomping grounds. From the warm, iconic Nagoyan breakfast service to the peaceful meanderings through the old streets, we truly felt like her personal guests. Again, there was a great deal of truly wonderful local delicacies to sample and there was just so much to soak in at every step of the way. Despite that, we never felt rushed or overwhelmed - and that's a grand achievement when touring Japan during peak seasons. Once again, the children loved the fact that we could always slow down or stop to ask questions or simply watch locals going about their business. This was the side of Nagoya we truly wanted to see and Saki more than delivered during our short time with her on this day!

At a time when Osaka and Nagoya was literally swarming with tourists, Saki managed to find us a very quiet little corner in Gifu where we could really soak in local culture. The tour of the Chiyoho Inari Shrine was simply sublime and we thoroughly enjoyed meandering through the nearby market without any crowds to content with. Saki allowed us to literally graze on the market's many offerings though we still had room for an excellent lunch of local Hida beef. The expedition to Yoro Falls was simply superb. We had visited Minoo Falls outside Osaka the day before and we had loved it. Yoro Falls was simply more peaceful and beautiful by far. The colours were truly breathtaking and we could savour it all without worrying about being in someone else's photo. We were actually sad to leave at the end of the day. 'Aunty' Saki was a real hit with our children too. They felt that she was always attentive to their needs and a terrific sport. They loved how she would recommend awesome snacks and also take the time to show them the less obvious aspects of local living! We'll definitely look out for Saki again the next time we are in the area!

Saki was an excellent guide who helped to planned our itinerary and transport options which were relatively complex. She is warm, helpful and proactive! :)
