Yacco M.
Hi, I’m Yacco, a friendly and passionate local guide. I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have lived in Yokohama for over 30 years. For the past several years, I’ve been guiding international visitors in Kamakura, Yokohama, and Tokyo as a volunteer, helping them discover the rich history, culture, and hidden charm of these unique cities. Traveling abroad creates once-in-a-lifetime memories, and I would love for you to fully experience the beauty and spirit of my favorite towns. I not only enjoy showing historical and modern landmarks, but also love introducing quiet backstreets, seasonal flowers, cozy cafés, and delicious local food that reflect the charm of everyday life. What I enjoy most is comparing Japanese traditions with my guests’ own cultures and histories—these conversations often lead to deep and inspiring exchanges. As your guide, I’m happy to customize tours based on your interests, whether you’re seeking unique experiences, historical insights, or local flavors. Let’s walk, talk, and create unforgettable memories together!

Originally from Canada, I've been living in Japan for 35 years, most of that in Miyazaki. I speak the language and I know the area better than most locals. In Miyazaki, there is a lack of public transport so I'd be happy to drive you to places like Aoshima (a beautiful beach and surfing hub), Udo Jingu (a unique seaside shrine), the samurai and merchant residences of Obi, and introduce you to the best spots for local food, shopping, or nightlife, as well as let you in on a few hidden secrets of Miyazaki if you have the time.

I’m a local licensed guide based in Kochi Prefecture. I grew up by the Pacific Ocean in Kochi and spent four years each in Tokyo and the United States—giving me both deep local knowledge and a global perspective. Although I’m new to GoWithGuide, I’ve been welcoming international guests for years through my private rental villa in Aki City and as a local guide in Kochi. Working in the travel industry, I know not only the famous landmarks but also the hidden gems of the region. All the photos you see here were taken by me—I enjoy photography, and if you’d like, I’d be happy to capture some memorable shots for you during the tour.

Hi, I’m Daniel – your local guide in Kanazawa! Originally from Northern Ireland, I now call the beautiful city of Kanazawa, Japan my home. With a background in Special Educational Needs, I’ve always been passionate about making learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful. Today, I bring that same spirit to my work as a local guide, blending storytelling, cultural insight, and warm conversation into every tour. My passion for Japanese culture and history runs deep. I’ve spent years immersed in independent study—reading, exploring, and reflecting on the traditions that shape daily life here. My academic background in Theology has given me a unique lens through which to understand and explain Japanese Buddhism and Shinto, helping guests appreciate the spiritual layers behind the temples, shrines, and seasonal rituals we encounter. Combined with my hands-on experience guiding visitors through Kanazawa’s historic districts, I aim to offer tours that are both thoughtful and down-to-earth. My tours are designed to be relaxed, friendly, and full of discovery—no stiff scripts or megaphones here! Whether we’re exploring samurai villas, shrines, or the tranquil paths of Kenrokuen Garden, I aim to create a space where guests feel welcome to ask questions, share stories, and truly connect with Japanese culture. I’m always happy to chat about life in Japan, share personal experiences, and offer practical tips for travelers. Whether you're curious about daily life in Kanazawa, Japanese traditions, or just want to enjoy a good conversation over matcha, I’m here to make your visit memorable. So let’s take a stroll, soak in the sights, and enjoy a tour that’s as informative as it is fun. I look forward to welcoming you to Kanazawa!

Jonathan R.
Hi, my name is Jonathan, Join me and help me craft an incredible experience in my favorite part of the world, Kansai. Join me in an unforgettable experience exploring Kansai with me and my highly modified Mitsubishi Evo 6 'Gokuro San'. I've lived in Japan for 18 years, I know Kansai inside out, and I work in the car export industry in Japan. Join me for my favorite tour, the JDM Experience, and cruise the Kanjo loop with me at night. Or explore the Ikoma 'Drift' Mountains with me for a day trip (this can also be incredible at night!). Also, send me a custom tour request, and I can custom build something for you! We could check out a car auction, head to a Japanese racetrack, or tour the Kyoto or Nara 'drift' mountains. Why not build a combination of both? Send me a message, and we can build an unforgettable experience. I speak fluent Japanese, I can help with translations; I know all the best spots for food and drink. Send me a message; and even if I can't help, I can point you in the right direction. See you on tour!

“Amazing Full Day Winter Tour!”
Reiko was the perfect guide to hire for a full day tour in Kushiro! I did my research and decided to go with Reiko because her tour was customized to what I wanted to do/see and offered experiences that bigger tours did not offer. I also liked the early start time of 5:30am to see the red crowned cranes wake up from their slumber from the Otowa bridge (something bigger tours don’t get to do). As a local, she knew spots most tourists would have never found on their own. We got to see the SL train, which only operates in January and February. It was much cooler in person than I thought it would be! I really wanted to see a fox in the wild, so when we saw one at the end of the day on the road back she even offered to back up and turn the car around so I could get a good photo! The whole day was filled with great photo ops of the nature and wildlife, which I came to Kushiro to see - red crowned cranes, Shima-enaga Hokkaido snow fairy, Ezo sika deer, Steller’s sea eagle, white-tailed eagle, Ezo red fox etc. If you are considering a tour guide, you will not be disappointed with Reiko!

“Tokyo with Chiaki”
We had an excellent guide in Chiaki who exceeded expectations! We were interested in visiting the fish markets and a tea ceremony and Chiaki ensured that everything we were interested in was covered. She is a lovely and warm guide who was excellent with our two kids also. The tea ceremony was intimate and authentic - a wonderful highlight. Chiaki is a wonderful guide who goes above and beyond

“Introduction to Tokyo ”
Mutoh met us at our hotel at the arranged time. He scooped us up and took us on a walking tour of his amazing city. Mutoh gave us the confidence to use the public transport system alone. He gave us a real flavour of the historic culture, the modern culture the shopping districts and true taste of Tokyo in the food markets! Mutoh tailored our trip so we were in the right area to easily visit the Sky Tree, which we had book independently. Mutoh also gave us great advice on what to do and where to go on our next day of solo adventures. Thank you very much Mutoh. Fran and Graham
