Using public transportation and the ferry, we will explore Miyajima, including Itsukushima Shrine and the Great Torii Gate, before visiting Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the Peace Memorial Museum. Through historical explanations and personal stories, I will help you experience both Hiroshima’s message of peace and Miyajima’s spiritual beauty.

About Tour Guide Akie S.

Hello, my name is Aki, and I’m a local guide based in Hiroshima.

I mainly offer private tours of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima. At the Peace Memorial Park, I help guests understand why Hiroshima was selected as the target of the world’s first atomic bombing, what happened to the city and its people, and how Hiroshima rebuilt itself as a city dedicated to peace.

On Miyajima Island, I can introduce you to the famous Itsukushima Shrine and the Great Torii Gate, which appears to float on the sea at high tide. I also enjoy taking guests to Daisho in Temple, a beautiful and peaceful temple at the foot of Mt. Misen. It is one of my favorite places on the island.

I am also passionate about hiking and rock climbing. Over the years, I have traveled for climbing in New Zealand, the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland, India, and Australia, as well as at many locations throughout Japan. With more than 25 years of experience, I know a variety of mountains, hiking trails, and climbing areas around Hiroshima.

Whether you are interested in history, culture, nature, or outdoor activities, I would be happy to help you discover Hiroshima at a comfortable pace. Please tell me about your interests, and let’s create a tour that suits you.

I look forward to welcoming you to Hiroshima!
