I will teach you the basics of praying such like how we enter the temple/shrine and how we pray.
*Admission fee of 500 yen per person will be charged in addition to the tour fee.
We have lunch at a very popular local restaurant which 3 minutes' walk from Kita-Kamakura station.
Dishes made with fresh seafood and a variety of local vegetables, pizza and home-made pasta are popular. A restaurant in a
renovated old Japanese house with a great atmosphere.
*You can choose your favorite course from 3 different types of courses (price from 1600YEN)
-After lunch-
We can stop by Hanko(Japanese stamp) shop or other shop if you are interested in. Please let me know if you want to make your own Hanko(Japanese stamp) in advance. It costs from 2,200yen, and it takes about 5min to make it per person.
We hike from Kita-Kamakura for about 30 minutes to Kuzaharaoka jinja/shirine. This shrine is famous for fulfilling love. It is the best spot for those who have a partner or not to pray for a good relationship.
*Omikuji(fortune paper) is from 200 yen~
We will stop at another temple on our light hike. Benzaiten is a shrine which is famous for prosperous business and increased financial luck. It is said that you can improve your financial luck by washing your cash in scared water. Don't forget your “Cash (it doesn't have to be JAPANESE YEN)"!
*A set of candles, incense sticks, and basket costs 200 yen.
After long walk, we enjoy "sake tasting" or "making matcha" while relaxing in a completely private space in an old private house in Kamakura. I am a certified international sake instructor and have experience in tea ceremony, so please feel free to ask me anything you don't understand.

Kamakura is one of Japan's ancient capitals, along with Kyoto, and very accessible area that is about one hour by train from Tokyo. Traditional temples remain, and you can feel the "beauty" of good old Japan. You can learn about Japanese traditions while visiting old Japanese places. Also, at the end of the tour, you can drink sake or matcha (you can choose both if you want to), which are part of Japanese food culture.

Our day with Toki san was so special. She made it so easy to get together and took us through the different temples and shrines and gave us more information on the importance of each. We loved getting to know Toki as well and hearing about her expertise. She planned a lovely lunch at small, quaint Japanese style Italian restaurant which was SO DELICIOUS. At the end of the day she hosted a sake and matcha tasting and gave us a thorough but easy to understand background of both sake and matcha. On our 3 week trip to Japan, I have to say that our day trip with Toki in the beautiful town of Kamakura is the biggest highlight of our trip. Arigato Gozaimasu, Toki San, for a day we will never forget! Michelle san
