Arashiyama is one of the most popular destinations in Kyoto, which is located on the western outskirts of Kyoto.
Let's go back to the ancient time when aritocrats enjoyed there!
if you like less-populated area( I mean a deeper side of Arashiyama ), let's discuss!
Nextly, let's move on to Kinkakuji Temple, very flashy temple!

if you have kids and they like animals, it will be fun time .
It takes about 35minutes to go up to the monkey park , stay there like feeding to monkeys and having a good panoramic scenery, and takes 10~15 minutes to go back to the bottom ( 8 minutes walking to the main street )
It's the most important temple in Arashiyama area.
It's a zen temple which was founded in 14C.
It's one of the world heritage sites in Kyoto with a beautiful garden which survived the centuries in its original form.
This is one of Kyoto's top sights.
Standing amid these amazing stalks of bamboo is like being in another world.
This garden used to be the former residence of Japanese famous film star, Okochi Denjiro.
This villa includes his traditional home, tea house , meditaion hall , moon-viewing platform amidst carefully maintained Japanese -style huge garden.
Kinkakuji Temple is again one of the most popular destinations among tourists.
Gold Pavilion ,literally means, whose top two floors are covered in gold leaf.
This temple used to be a retirement villa of the then-Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu and he seemingly wanted to show off his power.
Hope you enjoy this impressive structure built overlooking a large pond.

Hi! I'm Keiko.
I was born in Osaka, raised in Nara, and now live in Kyoto, each of which is a lovely place.
I love cooking, travelling, eating, and meeting lots of people, which led me my current job as a tour guide and a cooking instructor here in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan.
I'd like to show you the charms of Kyoto; the world heritage sites, nice spots good for social media, nice foods, hidden gems off the beaten track with the story of Japanese culture and history.
And I'd also like to assist you to make a lovely day through my Japanese cooking experience class.
Additionally, I love children and of course, respect the elderly.
The kids usually take to me right away!
I'd like to assist every member of your multi-generation family touring in Kyoto by my suggestions.
I look forward to welcoming you. See you soon!
“fantastic guide”
Keiko was very knowledgable about the area and its history. Her English was very good. Thoroughly recommended

“TOP 10 REASONS to NOT BOOK KEIKO IF………………..”
Recently had a 3 day custom tour with Keiko. Please do not book Keiko if…… 1) You don’t need much communication beforehand. Keiko is a constant and quick communicator. 2) You enjoy interpreting Japan to English. Keiko’s English is easily understood without any difficulty. 3) You prefer to be left to your own devices. Keiko will not let you do that! She was always thinking ahead to entertain our interest and provide knowledge that she thought was most musical to our ears. 4) A bubbly personality is not your thing. Keiko ‘popped’ off the train platform the moment we met at the train station. She never let that fun, sunshine personality subside. 5) The organization of your Guide is of little importance. Keiko was always aware of our next move, even suggesting we not do certain things as a waste of money/usage of her time. She did not hesitate when our plans veered from the expected and quickly regrouped to go in an opposite direction. 6) You expect your Guide to remain aloof and maintain a certain level of ‘professionalism’. Sorry, Keiko makes you feel like an old friend, if not one of her family. 7) You only want commercialized, touristic Japanese food. Ok, so what if she is a Chef who welcomes you to her home, and teaches you (with only the freshest of ingredients) how to make a wonderfully delicious meal. So what if you can’t fasten your pants after eating so much scrumptious food. 8) Your Guide should not genuinely care about your well being! Keiko constantly checked on our happiness, allowing for the difference in personalities in our group, ensuring we were all satisfied and well taken care of. 9) You are bothered when your Guide goes out on their own time to pick up little surprises for you. Yes, she did that too! And lastly, 10) You need a guide in Kyoto the same time that I do. Sorry, I do not want any competition for her time. DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!! Otherwise…you’d be crazy to not book Keiko. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

“Keiko San: The Perfect Guide for an Unforgettable Kyoto Experience”
My family and I had the pleasure of having Keiko San as our guide during our stay in Kyoto, and I can't express how amazing she was. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in good hands. The weather during our trip was unexpectedly cold for that time of year, and we even had a bit of snow. While we weren't prepared, Keiko San made sure to take care of us. She went above and beyond by going to a local store and purchasing mittens and caps for us to stay warm. It was such an amazing touch and showed how much she cared about our well-being. Keiko San took the time to understand our interests and curated the perfect itinerary for us. We were able to visit a mix of popular temples and shrines, beautiful gardens, and even off the beaten path locations that we would not have found on our own. One of the highlights of our trip was the "ninja experience" that Keiko San arranged for our kids. They were thrilled and it was a unique and memorable experience for them. And speaking of kids, Keiko San even took us to a one-of-a-kind pig cafe, which was a big hit. Keiko San also made sure that we tried the best street food and picked the perfect restaurants for us. We had some of the most delicious meals during our stay, and it was all thanks to her recommendations. Another thing that I have to mention is that Keiko San has a talent for taking the best pictures. She captured so many beautiful moments for us, and I am so grateful for that. Overall, I can't recommend Keiko San enough. She went above and beyond to make sure that our trip was unforgettable. If you're looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely cares about making sure you have the best experience possible, Keiko San is the perfect guide for you.

(23 reviews)Dear my beautiful guests, What a wonderful review I received! Thank you so much for putting it that way. " I " enjoyed 3 days with you. Especially, I was so glad to hear your children loved my options for them , as they looked a little embarrassed at the first moment. Thank you for sharing the Samurai experience time and pig Cafe time with me!!! Hope your children enjoy my cooking session next time! See you in the near future. Best regards, Keiko
