About Tour Guide Ryoko T.

Hello, future guests!

My name is Ryoko. I was born and raised in Utsunomiya, near Nikko.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit many countries, and I love traveling and meeting new people. Now, I’m really happy to be able to share the beauty of Japan with visitors from all over the world.

I’ve been guiding in Nikko and Utsunomiya for over 10 years, and I can show you not only the famous sights but also local culture, food, and hidden gems. Beyond sightseeing, I also enjoy customizing trips to match your interests—like sake brewery visits, or a pottery tour and hands-on experience in Mashiko, the famous pottery town.

I’d be delighted to help make your journey truly special. So, why not travel with me?

I’m looking forward to meeting you soon.

Reviews

A great time with a great host!

Ryoko was very knowledgeable about the area and my favorite place of the trip was Toshogu Shrine. Those steps were steep! It was a lovely area and thankfully, the weather was quite nice. I wish I could remember the name but the soba restaurant we went to was fantastic and the bakery on the way to station was nice as well. I strongly recommend Ryoko as your guide. In addition to her knowledge, she is a very friendly person to talk to and the time just flew away. She is quite passionate about the area and I hope to one day fully explore Nikko!

Thank you so much for your lovely review! I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour — that truly means a lot to me. Since it was your first time in Nikko, I showed you the main highlights. As a local guide, I’d love to take you to more amazing places next time, like Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls, as well as other wonderful spots. We could also visit Utsunomiya, famous for its delicious gyoza, and the pottery town of Mashiko. There’s still so much to explore! I hope we can meet again someday. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
