Meeting Point
At Tobu Nikko station or JR Nikko station
- If you need help purchasing limited express tickets from Asakusa, I can assist you through message. If you’re coming from Tokyo on the JR Shinkansen, meeting at JR Utsunomiya Station is also an option.
Shinkyo (Sacred Bridge)
A beautifully preserved vermilion bridge marking the entrance to the World Heritage area.
Toshogu Shrine and Rinnoji Temple
Toshogu Shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Japan. Colorful carvings, the famous Three Wise Monkeys, and stories of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Shogun of Tokugawa Shogunate.
The Sanbutsudo Hall at Rinnoji is the temple’s main hall, housing three principal Buddhist statues that represent Nikko’s sacred mountains.
Lunch at a Local Restaurant
We can enjoy Nikko’s local specialties like YUBA and soba, and if you have any other cuisine in mind, I’m happy to book a restaurant for you in advance.
River Walk along Kanmangafuchi Abyss with lined jizo statues
A peaceful walk along the Daiya River lined with stone Jizo guardians, where clear water flows over a striking volcanic riverbed that creates one of Nikko’s most picturesque streams.
Optional: Sake Brewery Visit
Visit a sake brewery and taste Japanese sake brewed with Nikko’s pristine water. If you find a favorite, you can buy it as a special souvenir of your trip.
Nikko Roadside station
We’ll finish the tour at the Japanese-style roadside station across from the sake brewery, where you can shop for Nikko souvenirs or enjoy a coffee break before catching your train.
Tour Ends at Shimo-Imaichi Station
I will assist you with your train back to Asakusa or Tokyo.

Sculpture Wonderland in Nikko: Shinkyo Bridge, Rinnoji Temple, Toshogu Shrine, & Taiyuin
Nikko, which has been acknowledged as World Heritage in 1999, has temples and shrines with awesome sculptures. We will ride a Tobu express train for approximately two hours from the east side of Tokyo area to visit there and take time to appreciate them. You can enjoy Yuba (tofu skin), which is one of the local specialities, buckwheat noodles or curry and rice etc. as lunch.
