A four hour day trip taking you to a Living Museum, Osaka Castle, a local Outdoor Shopping Mall, ending up at the most famous Entertainment District in Osaka.

NOTE: Even though the Calendar may reflect otherwise, I may still be able to do the tour as some tours are day, some are nite. Please inquire even if it seems another tour is booked.

Depart for Living Museum

Living Museum

We will walk through a really cool replica of a small town from the mid 1800`s and I will give you a historical rundown of what we will see and you will get to learn about old Japan.

11:30 AM

Depart Museum and Visit an Outdoor Shopping Mall

We get to walk through the longest outdoor local shopping mall while we make our way to the nearest train station to head to Osaka Castle. We will also stop by the local Shrine for some pics.

Train to Osaka Castle Grounds

Osaka Castle Grounds

We will walk the double moats of the Castle and make our way to the main building for pics and a history talk about the Castle`s long history.

Depart Castle Grounds

Head to train station

Arrive Namba Dotonbori Area

We will walk the largest Food Entertainment District in Osaka and maybe stop by one or two places for Sake & Food items. We will end the tour in this area around 2:00pm

1) IC Train Cards with at least ¥1,500 for each card.

2) Approx. ¥7,000 per person for purchase of food and beverages for your group and the Guide. NOTE: Guide does not eat on tour but refreshments and sake are appreciated.

3) Any entrance Fees for your group and the Guide.

We will walk a lot so wear comfortable shoes.

This tour is not wheelchair accessible in most places.

Please inform the guide of any allergies and/or dislikes.

Some food establishments may be loud and/or allow smoking.

About Tour Guide Richard 'hawk' H.

I have been an Interpretive Tour Guide for over 20 years. I landed in Japan with the United States Air Force in 1983 and have been learning, tasting and enjoying Japanese food all this time! Woohhoooo!!

As an ex-Executive Assistant Food and Beverage Manager/Director, I know food, most of all Japanese food, and I want to show you how fun and incredible it is! I promise your time with me will be fruitful, (get the pun?) making some amazing memories along the way.

I used to do daytime cultural tours until the pandemic left us out in the cold for three years so I had to switch over and do something else in which now I run a food tent and a food truck, making delicious smash burgers and tacos.

Even though I was number one on a renowned travel platform for a while, I have selected to only do evening food and sake tours now. I also run a children's food bag program three days a week that we started about a year and a half ago.

So if you would like me to take you around, I will still give you cultural and historical information, feed you amazing food and create some great memories for you to take home.
