Osaka’s Hidden Gem with Local Guide

I’d love to show two temples and a shrine adored by the Osaka natives.Shitennoji Temple, Isshinji Temple and Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine.
One of them dates back 2000 years,we are visiting there by tram running near local houses.

Shitennoji Temple
The first state-established Buddhist temple in Japan founded in 593 by Shotoku Taishi.He remains a very popular figure among Japanese people, his portrait used to be printed on the 10,000 yen banknote.
Isshinji Temple
Isshinji is a 5 minute walk from Shitennoji Temple.
It is known as the Common People’s Temple.
The ashes of over 20,000 of the deceased faithful are brought to Isshinji Temple each year to make into a life-sized statue of Amida Buddha.Fourteen statues in total have been made,which means that the spirits of 2.5 million people are honored in the temple.
Lunch
Lunch at Abeno Harukas,which is the second tallest building in Japan is a 10 minute walk from Isshinji Temple.
There is an observation deck if you want to look over the whole of Osaka.
Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine
One of Japan’s most renowned shrine,Sumiyoshi Taisha was founded in 211. At the beginning of each year, more than 2million worshippers visit the shrine to pray for health and prosperity in the coming year.
The Honden Main Shrines are all national treasures of Japan.
