This is the trip to visit all popular sight-seeing spots and have local snacks in Kamakura in a day. We will visit the most popular spots, not only Tsurugaoka Hachiman shrine and Great Buddha temple, Kotokuin but also Hase temple from which you can command panoramic sea view of Sagami bay. Kamakura is the center city of Japan in medieval age and a historical town in Kanagawa prefecture which is known as “the Kyoto of Kanto region”. It’s a very popular tourist destination from both Japanese and

Tsurugaoka Hachiman shrine was built by an ancestor of the Minamoto clan to enshrine the family deity, who later became the guardian deity of Kamakura Shogunate and its warriors.
The Great Buddha of Kamakura is a bronze statue of Amida Buddha, which stands on the grounds of Kotoku-in Temple.
The Great Buddha of Kotoku-in Temple has been designated a National Treasure.
This temple is called “the temple of flowers” because it is full of flowers all year around, wisteria, peony and azalea and called “the pure land in Kamakura”. The temple boasts a wealth of other sights related to Buddhism as well: a statue of Amida Buddha, Daikokuten, an image believed to help with success in life; a garden full of Jizo statues; and a cave containing images of goddess Benten and her disciples. No wonder that Hase-dera is said to be like a department store of Buddhism.
We can command the panoramic view of the pacific ocean together with the view of Enoshima island and Mt. Fuji from the top of the hill in the park. (Skip this destination during winter time)
This is a small island situated slightly west of Kamakura and has a little bit of everything-making it the all-in-one holiday spot.

“Tokyo Day two”
Nao, Was an absolute gentleman, was the oldest guide we used in Japan but such a wealth of knowledge and as I said such a gentleman. Definitely knew his way around but at the same time negotiated the most efficient way to travel without the traditional crowds you would expect in Tokyo. We definitely regret not being able to say a proper goodby to Nao San due to having to catch our next train to Kanazawa.

“Highly recommend Nao as a guide”
We booked Nao to see the highlights of Tokyo and we’re so pleased we did. From our first communication with Nao, he was punctual in his responses and clearly set out what we would be doing on the day. He is very personable, knowledgeable about his city and considerate of his clients needs. We enjoyed spending the day with him.
