Update of the site: I will be in Nagasaki, Kyushu, in August, tentatively, August the 4th(Tue.) through the 6th (Thur.). I am happy to show you around "hidden Christian sites" with terraced paddy fields, "TA-NA-DA". The sceneries imprinted in Venezia come to my mind when I stand near the Hirado pier. Our itnerary (meeting at Sasebo at 9:00 and finishing there at about 17:30) includes Whale Museum, one of the main local industries of the time, too. I will help you with information on other tourists’ spots on the beaten track. If interested, please e-mail me for the particulars. (as of March 10, 2020) I am available during the public holiday seasons and semester-end breaks; April 28 - May 6, Dec. 25 - January 7, and the month of August. Could you please bookmark them on your calendar and I will be ready to attend to you. Thank you. Hideaki

Izu Peninsula is the only area in "Honshu" island Japan, located on the Philippine Sea Plate. The peninsula was erected after clusters of volcanic islands and their northward movement, including those caves and cliffs where waves eroded rocks over time. You can also recall the days when Commodore Matthew C. Perry and Townsend Harris, who opened the first US Consulate, were around.

Being in the southern part of the country, its moderate climate allows us to enjoy the warmth and sunshine even in the winter season. There are a lot of places to see in Shizuoka; scenic beauties and places of historical interest, with plenty of local cuisine dishes and flavors to taste. This tour guides a variety of local fascinations compactly, especially for cruise travelers who disembark at Shimizu port.
