We visit three most famous sight-seeing spots in Tokyo in one day: Meiji Jingu, Imperial Palace and Asakusa.
Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine. Shinto is Japan's indigenous religion. Imperial Palace used to be Edo Castle and now is the primary residence of the emperor of Japan. Asakasa has Sensoji temple (the oldest buddhist temple in Tokyo), Kaminari gate (a big red lantern) and Nakamise street (many small local shops).

Meiji Jingu is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Japan, with the vast land of the forest (70ha). It was established in 1920, to enshrine Emperor Meiji and Empreress Shoken who contributed to make a foundation of modernized Japan. After visiting it, we will walk through Takeshita street in Harajuku that has many trendy shops, fashion boutiques, second hands stores, crepe stands, animal cafes and etc. We will have a lunch there. Enjoy seeing both traditional quiet scene and busy teenage culture site at the same time.
Imperial Palace used to be Edo Castle. It was a head quarter of Tokugawa Shogun that has ruled Japan from 1603 to 1867. 1868 was the year of Meiji Restration and the shogunate was overthrown. The capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo, then. The Edo Castle has unfortunately burned down and currently imperial family is living at new Imperial Palace. We do not go to inner part of the palace but view popular Nijubashi bridge and traces of Edo Castle such as moats and massive stone walls.
Asakusa is located at downtown area of Tokyo. At first, we will over-view Asakasa district from eight floor building. Then, after going though Kaminari gate with a large red lantern, we will walk through Nakamise, a shopping street that has a variety of traditional snacks, local specialities and tourist souveniers for centuries. At last, the main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular and the oldest temple (7th century) in Tokyo. You can enjoy the atomosphere of past decade of Japan.

This is a tour for the first-time visitor to Japan.
This is a tour for the people having very limited time in Tokyo for a day.
If you want to customize the trip, please feel free to ask me.
For example, go to Shibuya Scramble in stead of Meiji-Shrine, visit Tokyo Tower in stead of Imperial Palace and etc.
Or, we may squeeze the time of three visits and add other locations, if you like. I am easy and flexible.
