【Ueno Park】
Ueno is a quintessential old district of Tokyo, rich in history and culture. Originally developed during the Edo period, this area was built to house Kaneiji Temple, the family temple of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Today, it remains a beloved destination, especially during spring, as it is one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots, drawing thousands of visitors to enjoy the stunning sakura.
Ueno is also home to fascinating landmarks steeped in history and beauty. Explore Bentendo Hall, surrounded by tranquil lotus flowers, and marvel at Kiyomizu Kannon-do, inspired by Kyoto's iconic Kiyomizu Temple. Discover the Great Buddha, Inari Shrine, and the mysterious Fox Caves. Don't miss Toshogu Shrine, which holds the graves of Tokugawa shoguns, and Kaneiji Temple itself, a site of deep spiritual significance.
In addition to its historical charm, Ueno played a pivotal role during the late Edo period as the site of a dramatic battle between the samurai of the old government and the emperor's new government forces. It’s a place where Japan’s fascinating history truly comes alive.
For art and architecture enthusiasts, Ueno is a treasure trove of cultural landmarks. It boasts the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, and more, offering a glimpse into Japan’s and the world’s artistic heritage.
Lastly, Romy, your guide, shares the stories of Ueno with you! Having attended middle school in this area, I hold a special connection to this charming district!

【Akihabara】a dazzling wonderland of neon lights and the ultimate destination to dive into Japan's vibrant pop culture!
Welcome to Akihabara, a dazzling wonderland of neon lights and the ultimate destination to dive into Japan's vibrant pop culture! Known worldwide as the heart of anime and otaku culture, Akihabara is a paradise for fans of games, anime, manga, cosplay, and collectible figures. Let your imagination run wild as you explore this fantastical world of creativity and Japanese innovation.
But Akihabara isn't just about pop culture—it’s also a mecca for electronics! Originally emerging after World War II as a hub for radio part shops, the area blossomed into a haven for tech enthusiasts. Even today, you’ll find countless stores offering everything from cutting-edge gadgets to PC parts. Fun fact: one of my friends loved coming here to hunt for rare PC components!
For a truly unique experience, why not step into a maid café, where the charming staff will whisk you away into a playful, whimsical atmosphere? It’s a must-try that you won’t forget.
Oh, and by the way, I, your guide Romy, attended middle school right here in this vibrant neighborhood, so it holds a special place in my heart! Before we wrap up, let’s capture the fun of the day by taking purikura (photo booth pictures) together. It’s the perfect way to create lasting memories of your Akihabara adventure!

“Half-day tour with Romy!”
We had a great time with Romy touring the Meiji Jingu shrine! Romy was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the shrine itself and also about Japanese history. Romy was cheerful and guided us well. She made an effort to talk to each person on the tour to make sure they were having a good time (my daughter said “she is amazing, I learned so much”). We ate at a restaurant she recommended which was fabulous and near our hotel. We are so grateful that Romy was able to lead our tour.

Dear Jeff sama, Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message. It was truly a pleasure guiding you and your wonderful family at Meiji Jingu Shrine. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience and that your daughter found it meaningful — her words truly touched my heart. Sharing the history and spirit of Japan is something I deeply value, and it means a lot to know that it resonated with you. I'm also delighted the restaurant recommendation worked out well — good food always completes a good day! I hope your journey through Japan continues to be filled with joy, discovery, and beautiful memories. Please know that you will always be welcome here, and I would be honored to guide you again someday. Warmest regards, Romy

“Fantastic Guide Romi san”
A swedish family of 8 had a great experience with Romy . Though we booked a sunday and unfortunately the inner market was closed she made a superb effort to make a perfect day for us. Thank you Hiromi from all us swedish friends
Hiromi N.
Olle san, It was truly an honor to learn that Your grandfather was the first Swedish that met Emperor Showa—such a distinguished and historic connection! Although the inner market was closed on Sunday, I had the pleasure of escorting you to a sushi restaurant instead. Your daughters were simply radiant—they shone like a beam of light. I was delighted to discover how much Swedish and Japanese people in common. Respectful manners and thoughtful sense of personal space reminded me so much of the Japanese spirit. Your Japanese pronunciation was truly impressive! Now it's my turn to start learning Swedish! One day, I sincerely hope I can visit Sweden myself. Please kindly extend my warmest regards to each of your daughters and Wife.

“Amazing day with Hiromi”
We had a wonderful day with Hiromi. We were a group of six Canadians visiting Tokyo, and Hiromi was truly exceptional. She shared with us a wealth of historical and cultural insights, while making sure we visited as many sites as possible. Her outstanding professionalism made our experience even more memorable. On top of that, Hiromi speaks excellent English and French, which made communication easy and enjoyable throughout the day.
