Tsukiji Outer Market
Let’s go on an exciting journey into Japan’s food culture!
Tsukiji has over 400 shops—offering everything from fresh fish and meat to kitchen knives and even chef’s uniforms.
I’ve guided more than 200 tours here and have many friends in the market.
I’ll introduce you to my favorite hidden spots and trusted vendors.
Together, we’ll enjoy some of the tastiest bites Tsukiji has to offer.
Leave it to me—it’s going to be a fun and delicious adventure!
Namiyoke Shrine (Wave Protection Shrine)
Learn about the spirit of Tsukiji through a visit to Namiyoke Shrine, the market’s spiritual guardian.
Discover how Buddhism and Shinto shape daily life in Japan.
This tour is led by Romy, a licensed guide with deep knowledge of Japanese culture and religion, gained through her experience working at the Imperial Household Agency.
At the shrine, she’ll share stories and insights you won’t hear on ordinary food tours.
You’ll also see the powerful lion head monument and photos from the vibrant Tsukiji Festival, held every June.
Tsukiji Uogashi (Inner Fish Market)
Join me for an exclusive visit to Tsukiji Uogashi, Tokyo’s cleanest and most professional fish market open only to chefs and restaurant buyers until 7:00 AM.
Having guided over 200 tours in Tsukiji, I know this market intimately and have many personal connections with trusted local vendors.
Together, we’ll explore hidden corners, admire premium seafood from across Japan, and maybe even witness a dramatic bluefin tuna cutting.
You’ll see the legendary 140cm tuna knives—gleaming like samurai swords—and finish with a rooftop view over Tsukiji and Tokyo Bay.
Before we part, I’ll take a commemorative photo and share a small gift, as a token of your journey into Tokyo’s culinary heart.

“Half-day tour with Romy!”
We had a great time with Romy touring the Meiji Jingu shrine! Romy was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the shrine itself and also about Japanese history. Romy was cheerful and guided us well. She made an effort to talk to each person on the tour to make sure they were having a good time (my daughter said “she is amazing, I learned so much”). We ate at a restaurant she recommended which was fabulous and near our hotel. We are so grateful that Romy was able to lead our tour.

Dear Jeff sama, Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message. It was truly a pleasure guiding you and your wonderful family at Meiji Jingu Shrine. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience and that your daughter found it meaningful — her words truly touched my heart. Sharing the history and spirit of Japan is something I deeply value, and it means a lot to know that it resonated with you. I'm also delighted the restaurant recommendation worked out well — good food always completes a good day! I hope your journey through Japan continues to be filled with joy, discovery, and beautiful memories. Please know that you will always be welcome here, and I would be honored to guide you again someday. Warmest regards, Romy

“Fantastic Guide Romi san”
A swedish family of 8 had a great experience with Romy . Though we booked a sunday and unfortunately the inner market was closed she made a superb effort to make a perfect day for us. Thank you Hiromi from all us swedish friends
Hiromi N.
Olle san, It was truly an honor to learn that Your grandfather was the first Swedish that met Emperor Showa—such a distinguished and historic connection! Although the inner market was closed on Sunday, I had the pleasure of escorting you to a sushi restaurant instead. Your daughters were simply radiant—they shone like a beam of light. I was delighted to discover how much Swedish and Japanese people in common. Respectful manners and thoughtful sense of personal space reminded me so much of the Japanese spirit. Your Japanese pronunciation was truly impressive! Now it's my turn to start learning Swedish! One day, I sincerely hope I can visit Sweden myself. Please kindly extend my warmest regards to each of your daughters and Wife.

“Amazing day with Hiromi”
We had a wonderful day with Hiromi. We were a group of six Canadians visiting Tokyo, and Hiromi was truly exceptional. She shared with us a wealth of historical and cultural insights, while making sure we visited as many sites as possible. Her outstanding professionalism made our experience even more memorable. On top of that, Hiromi speaks excellent English and French, which made communication easy and enjoyable throughout the day.

Dear Eric sama, Thank you very much for choosing me and Japan. It was truly my immense pleasure to guide successful business leaders from Quebec. Thank you for supporting Japanese businesses through your work as well. Quebec, with its unique blend of French and English cultures, is one of my favorite regions. It was truly a pleasure meeting with you. I hope to see you again! Sincerely, Your private samurai.
