【Meiji Jingu Shrine】Discover and deepen your understanding of the Yamato dynasty, the world's oldest dynasty, and Shinto, Japan's indigenous spiritual tradition
Immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of a sacred forest, where quietness and peace embrace the soul.
Meiji Jingu Shrine is one of the major Shinto shrines in Japan, set within a vast forested area (70 ha.) in the heart of the bustling metropolis of Tokyo.
As soon as you enter the grounds, you'll forget you're in a busy urban area and discover a serene, traditional Japanese atmosphere amidst lush greenery.
This shrine was founded in 1920 to honor the virtues of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, who played a key role in establishing the foundation of modern Japan.
Meiji Jingu is open every day, though the opening hours vary according to the season.
Here, your guide will thoughtfully explain the traditions of Shinto and the history of Japan’s Imperial Family. You will also find three beautiful torii gates, a sacred pair of married camphor trees, and an elegant shrine building.
Meiji Jingu warmly awaits, ready to offer its blessings to all visitors.
Takeshita Street (Harajuku/pop culture)
Takeshita street, situated just in front of Harajuku station, has been a Mecca for Japanese teenagers.
Along this 350-meter-long street, about 130 shops are packed closely together.
Take a stroll down this vibrant street and explore a dazzling mix of fashion boutiques, crepe stands, Sanrio shops, anime stores, souvenir shops, cozy cat cafés, and charming pig cafés. You'll also find 100-yen shops, UNIQLO, and a variety of cosmetics stores — all offering a true taste of modern Japanese culture.
This street is well known as a Mecca for girls in Lolita costume.
They are so cute, Kawaii!
Enjoy watching the ever-changing fashions of the people passing by.
【Shibuya Scramble/Crossing】
Shibuya is a lively, modern neighborhood buzzing with youthful energy, surrounded by towering skyscrapers. One of its most famous spots is the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, where an incredible half a million people cross paths every single day! Head up to the top floors of Shibuya Scramble Square for a stunning view of this lively human flow — it’s like watching a living, breathing work of art.

“Fantastic Guide Romi san”
A swedish family of 8 had a great experience with Romy . Though we booked a sunday and unfortunately the inner market was closed she made a superb effort to make a perfect day for us. Thank you Hiromi from all us swedish friends

Olle san, It was truly an honor to learn that Your grandfather was the first Swedish that met Emperor Showa—such a distinguished and historic connection! Although the inner market was closed on Sunday, I had the pleasure of escorting you to a sushi restaurant instead. Your daughters were simply radiant—they shone like a beam of light. I was delighted to discover how much Swedish and Japanese people in common. Respectful manners and thoughtful sense of personal space reminded me so much of the Japanese spirit. Your Japanese pronunciation was truly impressive! Now it's my turn to start learning Swedish! One day, I sincerely hope I can visit Sweden myself. Please kindly extend my warmest regards to each of your daughters and Wife.

“Amazing day with Hiromi”
We had a wonderful day with Hiromi. We were a group of six Canadians visiting Tokyo, and Hiromi was truly exceptional. She shared with us a wealth of historical and cultural insights, while making sure we visited as many sites as possible. Her outstanding professionalism made our experience even more memorable. On top of that, Hiromi speaks excellent English and French, which made communication easy and enjoyable throughout the day.
