I'm Yukiko Fujii. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I've done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. Since I am one of a few guides who tried virtual tour in Tokyo during pandemic, it was a challenging, but it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.
I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children as well.
I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.
I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. There are some common thinking between Tour guide and Nurse, both jobs are required to put myself into their shoes. I'll make plans considering their physical conditions and will arrange any supports after discussing about the tour. I've already experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.
I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.
I'm looking forward to meeting you in my tour! Arigatou!

“Great experience with Yukiko! ”
We booked 2 days private tour with Yukiko. We were a big group of 10 people ( 3 adults, 2 teens, 5 kids). Yukiko was very friendly and professional, she made sure she took us to the places we wanted to see yet not feeling rush at all and even took our pictures. On the second day se did Origami in between our activities oh with the kids and taught them the Japanese numbers. Thank you Yukiko for making a trip memorable. You’re truly a gem.

“Two days in search of Hachiko and unique Temples”
My first visit to Japan in 2023, Yukiko-san worked with us before our arrival to blend what I wanted to see most with some of her recommendations(see my 2023review). She was well versed on Japanese culture and history, had handouts, ipad presentations, and even inquired about food allergies. My wife and I had a great time. In 2024 I returned to Japan and fortunately for me Yukiko had time in her schedule for two days of exploring Tokyo. Together we created a “Hachiko Tour” that covered the major Hachiko related sites around Tokyo. Also visited temples that I had missed the previous year. When a very rainy day intervened, she modified the day’s tour so that we explored new buildings like the Shibuya Hikarie and Scramble hirise malls until the storm cleared. I had also expressed an interest in learning how to use the train system in Tokyo, and she helped me to learn the basics and then tested my comprehension by having me meet her at one of the sites far away from my hotel. It worked, I did not get lost. Yukiko was always careful to make sure that the walking distances were not too long for my arthritic knees, and at the train station located elevators or escalators to avoid those long steep stairs. She selected places to eat based on my desire to sample real Japanese food that would not affect my food allergy. At the beginning of the tour, she presents you with her own booklet that summarizes the tour and has a copy of that very complicated looking map of the train system. I realize that my review of Yukiko’s tours seems a bit exaggerated, but after two wonderful tours, I can attest that she is worthy of such praise. I felt that I was being guided by a family member who wanted to create a great experience, rather than a hired tour guide. Thank you Yukiko-san for memories that will last a lifetime.

“Tokyo through the scree ”
I managed to feel the city thought the screen and being in another part of the world. From one area in Tokyo l managed to feel the diversity of the city. And within one hour I found out about the main cultural peculiarities. The tour was well planned and interactive (despite being virtual). Thank you Yukiko. It was a pleasure.
