Welcome to Tokyo! This amazing city never sleeps. As a modern and new capital of Japan, Tokyo is also the largest Japanese city for shopping, business, entertainment and gastronomy. Hence, there are so many places to visit and usually, visitors spend too much time doing searching, trying to figure out our complex transportation system, place to be visited etc etc.
I made this tour #2 focused on another part of the city, which is more modern, traditional and cool. Let’s start from your hotel and head to Old Tsukiji Market and Ginza to enjoy Japanese food and walk around a nice neighborhood. Ginza is great place for shopping (or window shopping) to see the trendiest things on fashion, stationeries etc. We don’t need to spend much time in this area, which is loved by Insta’s fans, unless you want to. Then, Roppongi wil be waiting for our visit. I recommend to enjoy Tokyo City View, in my opinion, the best place to see the city among so many skyscrapers. After understanding the city from the roof of a building with almost 300 meters, we will head to Tokyo Bay to see in loco, what we saw from roof. Eventually we may take a cool short ride by ferry in the Tokyo Bay zone. Finally, we can visit the traditional district of Nihonbashi, an off the beaten track, before taking you back to your accommodation.
INCLUDED: Guide fee + Meeting and return to your hotel in central Tokyo.
NOT INCLUDED: Public transportation (USD10-15 / person) + if decided to visit Tokyo City View (1.500~2.300 yen / person, no need for me) + lunch for YOU & the GUIDE (USD15 / person).
Public transportation + WALKING is involved!! So, please use comfortable clothes and shoes.
I recommend you to take some cash, since many small business doesn’t accept credit card.
If you have any FOOD or PHYSICAL restriction, you need to let me know in advance please!
Mitsuru was very careful when planning our visit, and made sure we got exactly the experience we wanted from Tokyo, with the right balance of tourist hotspots and local finds. His patience when explaining local habits and teaching us how to ride the tube were the reason we were able to get around the rest of the country, and his impecable guidance made it able for us to cover all of Tokyo in the little time we had with him. We would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun and educational experience in Tokyo. Thank you Mitsuru, we hope to see you again soon!
Hey Catarina!! You & Andre have such a great vibe and I enjoyed a lot introducting Tokyo to you guys! Thanks for trusting on my recommendations plus being your new friend on IG. I am also glad that you spent awesome time in multiple cities in Japan and that my tips were useful during your stay. Thanks for your cooperation and support to our people. Considering this global pandemic, Japan still has not so many cases of covid-19, but Tours in Japan or anywhere in the world may take time from now on. So, I am sure you guys were very lucky and took the right decision, on the right time. Stay safe and healthy, so we will be able to meet again soon here or who know in São Paulo!! Super obrigado e abraços!! ?
We had the pleasure of spending two separate days with Mitsuru. He was the best guide we could have asked for. We initially booked him for the day after we arrived to show us around Tokyo, but more importantly to teach us how to get around. He met us at our hotel, and we immediately felt comfortable with him. He showed us not only how to use the subway, but what all the signs meant, what to look for, and how to top up our cards when needed. By the end of the day, we had not only seen many sights, learnt a lot of history, learnt many customs, but most importantly felt comfortable getting around on our own. He also engaged well with the kids (Aged 19, 17, & 11) and made them all feel comfortable and happy to ask questions. We then booked Mitsuru to take us on a day trip to see Mt Fuji. We mentioned that we wanted to experience a bullet train, so he met us at the hotel, explained to us the day he had planned, taking into account everything we had told him, and off we went. We took the bullet train out, had lots of activities in and around Hakone, including seeing Mt Fuji. He introduced us to some local delicacies, and then we took the romance train back to Tokyo. All in all he was exactly what we were after, the kids all loved him (in fact our 11y.o wanted to go home with him), he was considerate, engaging, easy to understand, and happy to go at our pace. We would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone.
Hey Cass, oh you guys are so easygoing.. cheers Aussies!! Since the 1st contact with Andrew, I could fell we were all going to spend a great time! Thanks for trusting on my recommendation for both Tokyo and Hakone! We really had so much fun in both days!! Remember the waitress in Tokyo? She took tons of pics and only one was good! ?, on the other hand the waitress in Hakone took us the best pic of our days!! Btw, Hakone day was also so nice, covered by snow everywhere and we couldn’t take better pics!! Especially at Mt. Owakudani and around the lake, where you guys quickly found a great similarity with Queenstown in NZ! Ah, not to mention of throwing snowballs, OMG I miss Jack! ?. It was great for me to customize this tour, showing you guys how to get bullet train from the crowded Tokyo station and return to Tokyo from a different path and type of train. I am so glad to hear that you feel more confident after so many experiences on the complex, but efficient Japanese transportation system! See you guys in VIC or hopefully in QLD in the near future! Hugs and thank you guys again for everything! ? Mitsuru - Tokyo
Mitsuru took us on the most wonderful tour of Tokyo, he impressively navigated us around on a rainy day and tweaked the plan to accommodate the wet weather, delivering us a spectacular day full of culture, food and fun. We were so impressed with how he found something for each of us, which is pretty amazing when you have two adults and three children aged 13yr, 10yr and 7yr! Each one of us found something so special from the day. Was particularly impressed with Mitsuru who learnt my husband was a chef so took him to an amazing food hall that was an absolute delight. We learnt so much from Mitsuru, about Edo, I loved our trip to Ryojuku and particularly the Sake vending machines :) without his help we would not have been so confident on the trains for our remaining days! We would not hesitate to book Mitsuru again when we come back to Tokyo, there is so much more we know we you could show us and that you could teach us all the little things about it. You were amazing Mitsuru - thank you so much!!!!!
Angeee, thank you!!!!! It was really an awesome day for me! What a wonderful family you have.. I enjoyed all the moments we spent together, including seeing Castor having fun at Pokemon store, please say your boys that I envy their hair style and I wish I could have a similar one when I was in their age! :) Benn, wish you success on your business!! Yeah, Ange.. sake tasting is always fun too, kanpai! Cheers! ? Hope to visit your area some day and hopefully to learn something about wine with Benn and definitely try some great dishes from your restaurant! Please come to Japan again and let’s visit other areas, including some off the beaten path, like you region in the beautiful countryside of NSW ?! I am already following you guys on IG.. Hugs and thanks a lot again!! Mitsuru Japan
Mitsuru was a joy to be with. I would highly recommend his tour and encourage you to tell him what you want to see and he will customize the day for you. He has an easy going, relaxed vibe and his english is fluent. 5 stars all the way.
Hi Mike!! Thank you very much for your words! Not that fluent, but I learn a lot from easy going people like you & Lisa.. Fortunately it was a sunny day and not like those too hot days of the last summer you were here! Hah.. Please take care and I am waiting for you and Lisa again to explore others regions around the archipelago!! Hugs, Mitsuru Japan
