Tokyo is huge. But if you have only one day to explore, you need a well-made itinerary. Let's get on subways and see as much as we can!

The tour will start from the water front where we have the famous food market. We then go to the east where we call it "old town". Lastly we will visit the west where we call it "modern Tokyo". We go to two places, a shinto shrine in a forest and a colorful shopping street. I hope you will enjoy the huge contrast to get the idea of Tokyo.

Meeting Point

The foyer of your hotel

- The tour will start and end in the foyer of your hotel. If you stay at an airbnb, the tour will start and end at the nearest train/subway station from your airbnb.

Tsukiji outer food market

Tsukiji outer food market was originally built in 1925. You will see our food culture in the shops and food stalls. You may try our popular and fresh delicacies (optional) while we are there.

Asakusa

Asakusa is a very popular district for the locals as well. I go there very often, too. Sensoji in Asakusa is the historically oldest and the most popular Buddhist temple in Tokyo. There are many shopping arcades as well as restaurants around the temple. You may find traditional crafts and souvenirs in the arcades.

Meiji Jingu Shrine

Shinto is our indigenous religion and Meiji Shrine is one of the most important shrine in Tokyo dedicated to the Emperor Meiji. It was build in 1920 and is in a forest. We will walk through the forest to the main hall of the shrine.

Harajuku Takeshita street

There are five shopping districts around and Harajuku is one of them. Harajuku is mainly for teenager girls. We will walk through the Main Street in Harajuku, Takeshita street. There are colorful shops selling unique clothings, shoes, accessories and popular sweets. On top, there are many "pet cafes". Harajuku is a very unique district and is worth to visit.
