At some hotel in Tokyo where the clients stay
Tokyo station goes back to 1914. It was designed and constructed by Mr. Kingo Tatsuno. He studied architecture in Tokyo university, mainly focused on the study of a western style architecture. The station was built just to symbolize the westernization and modernization of Tokyo. The Tokyo station is not only sophisticated in the style, but also it was strong. In 1923, a big earthquake took place in Kanto area including Tokyo, it survived, despite that all other buildings collapsed. In the end of the World War Ⅱ, Tokyo was devastated by the air raid by the USA, but Tokyo station was able to survive.
In this area, once there was the center of Tokugawa Shogunate, the so-called Tokugawa regime, which started its history from 1600 and was succeeded up until 1867, in which a kind of a revolution by the leadership of young generation who endeavored the westernization and modernization of Japan took place and the regime was destroyed by the movement.
In the lunch time, some restaurant to feature Japanese type of recipes will be introduced to the guests. As the place for taking lunch, East side of Shinjuku station will be recommended for you, because Shinjuku is the center of the west side of Tokyo area where you will see so many cars running the boulevards, a lot of street goers scurrying the streets, and everything located there is huge in size, meaning for you to be worthwhile to see.
Plan A: There, we will go up to the observatory platform of the Tokyo metropolitan government building and enjoy the wide view of Tokyo from there. When blessed with good weather, you will be able to see Mt. Fuji. Anyway, Tokyo is under the management of the Tokyo Metropolitan government.
Plan B: we will visit the old and traditional shrine named Hanazono shrine, Shinjuku Golden Gai which is a well-known tavern quarter, Godzilla statue and Shinjuku Kabukicho area which is famous as the nightlife district.
Plan C: Meiji-Jingu shrine. It is a Sinto shrine dedicated for the Emperor Meiji and Empress Meiji. They dedicated so much for the modernization of Japan after the restoration which took place in 1867. After the death of the Meiji Emperor, Japanese people endeavored to build something to commemorate the huge achievement made by the Emperor.
The Shibuya crossing is the symbol of the Japanese who spend a busy life every day. and also, there is one more thing you should not miss. it is a faithful dog named Hachi. Shibuya Crossing and the faithful dog Hachi stand for the heart of the Japanese.
The area is the famous place for the transmission spot of new fashion representing Japan. There you will see a lot of world well-known shops.

Please note:
I think the best way to know Tokyo will be to visit both of East side and West side of Tokyo at one time. East side will show you traditional aspect of Tokyo. Of course, Tokyo station will be the mainstay of the assets. And, there will be much more there than meets the eye. Not so far from Tokyo sta. is located Asakusa & Nakamise which is almost a root of contemporary Tokyo. It will be a must to visit if you want to know Tokyo. Then, we will visit Imperial Palace Higashi-Gyoen. There, you will encounter the glorious remnant of Edo Shogunate which reined over Japan from 1600 to 1868 with the duration of 270 years. Samurai spirit which is still estimated highly among the Japanese is rooted in this regime.
By the way, at around here, we would like to have a lunch for the day.
In the afternoon, we will move to West side of Tokyo to know about the new aspect of Tokyo. At first, we will visit Shinjuku area. Shinjuku has been developed as a new district which will support Tokyo Metropolitan Government. You will see a lot of high-rise buildings symbolizing the trend to catch up with the rapid progress of the world. Near Shinjuku sta. is located Meiji Jingu shrine, which is almost a sanctuary for us who live in the hassle and bustle of the city life. It will also tell you the big change which took place in 1868 in Japan and which symbolizes the modernization of Japan. Then, we will go to Harajuku and Omotesando street. You will be able to know there that a new trend of Japan now, especially in the field of fashion, is born here in this area. If time is permitted, I would like to take you to Shibuya area which is also designated as a town to support the development of Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Shibuya is really the town with the vigor. I would like to show you essence of the town.
If you make a booking to my tour, it will be better to make it one week earlier before the scheduled date. If you kindly do so, I could mostly adjust the tour date. Thanking for your kind regard with this matter.
I was born in Osaka and spent my life there until I graduated from university. Thereafter, I moved from Osaka to Yokohama to find employment in the City of Yokohama, and worked there as a city official for more than 30 years. In the City of Yokohama, I was mainly in charge of city planning and international exchange programs with foreign cities, both of which were instrumental for me to expand perspective to know Japan. Now, after nearly ten years' guide experience, I still continue the efforts to become a good guide.

“Exceptional Tour Guide”
Mr. Choyo T. was an awesome guide! He was very professional, very friendly, and very patient with us. There was no hurry to get through our set schedule. Instead he moved at our pace. And he was ever mindful of our needs. Constantly checking if we were ok. We visited a few of the tourist hotspots in Tokyo and he was very knowledgeable in sharing the history of each place. We had a great day with Mr. Tanaka and would highly recommend him!

(3 reviews)Thank you very much for your warm-hearted comment with me. But, frankly speaking your estimation about me is too much for me. I only try to be a facilitator to introduce Japan and Japanese culture to foreign visitors who visit Japan with a lot of expectation to know inside and outside of Japan. The only thing I can do for them is to do the best to meet their demand. God bless you and your family!!!

Two days exciting tour to Nagano to see Sakura & castle, enjoy soba-making, many more!
Customized
I think the guide do not have sufficient knowledge on the place we are visiting and also the route. It is a waste of my time and should not be allowed to guide to places where he is not familiar. If he need to read the information given at the place of interest, I also can read and I don't need his service. TQ

(3 reviews)Thank you for your review about our two days tour of Nagano. I was careless about skipping the information of Ueda castle to you. It is a long story, but I should have done. And one more, I and my driver feel deeply sorry for being delayed in arriving at the hotel because of making wrong choice of the route on the way back to the hotel.
