Tour Important Information

* Some shops give you a tax exemption by showing your passport, so it'd be better to bring your passport.
[What to expect]
This tour starts at Tsukiji. Tsukiji fish market is gone (moved to Toyosu) but we still have Tsukiji "outer" market, where you can see hundreds of small shops, buffets, stalls selling Japanese casual food that you can try while strolling. There are also fish stores like ones in the old Tsukiji fish market. The biggest feature is the atmosphere of the good old-days. Then we head for Meiji shrine: a Shinto shrine located in a peaceful forest. Shinto is an indigenous religion to Japan, so I'll tell you a bit about Japanese religions and history regarding the god worshiped there: the Emperor Meiji. After seeing traditional aspects of Japan, just a few minutes walk takes you to a completely different world: Harajuku! Takeshita street is a trendsetting spot for teenagers filled with "Kawaii" or very cute goods, clothes and even food like colorful cotton candy and decorative crepes. Our tour won't nd there. Let's walk into back streets of Harajuku or "Ura-hara", where trendy shops serve even trendier customers in less crowded neighborhood. If you are interested in art, I'll take you to a free gallery displaying art works of young people. They are far from sophisticated but energetic and inspiring. (If you're not so interested in Fashion, it's also OK to visit Ota memorial museum, where you can see traditional Ukiyoe or woodblock printings.) After Harajuku and Ura-hara, we'll go to the sophisticated shopping district, Omotesando. Walking Omotesando street lined with stylish Buildings is so pleasant. If you like, we can have lunch somewhere nearby anytime or at the end of the tour I'll just suggest some places to eat.

“Jolly is a great guide”
Jolly is a great guide! She created an itinerary for us based on our interests which was to see and learn about the spectacular buildings in the Ginza. We could have done this ourselves but would have been just visual, not informational. She also took us into buildings with sculptures and art we’d never have found. I’d go with her again!

“Perfect day with Jolly ”
We had an amazing private tour with Jolly and it was the highlight of our stay in Tokyo. Jolly is a very kind ,warm person, beautiful and is perfect in every way! We loved her patience, doesn’t rush us and very helpful at all times. She radiates with exuberance.I genuinely felt so much better catching the train in Tokyo because of her guidance .She went beyond our expectations. We were so comfortable with her straight away and she treated us like family, so did we. We loved talking to her about everything especially my husband who felt very connected. Jolly you made us all happy for the entire day . It was fun , funny and always full of surprises. We were sad at the end of the tour because we had to say goodbye. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing us what Japanese hospitality is . We really hope to see you again next time. 5 stars isn’t enough. You are 100 stars and more if only I am allowed to rate your service. Arigato gozaimasu.

Oh! What a heartwarming review you gave me...although you must've been a bit tired after our Tokyo tour and you have a big day to Nikko today. Thank you so much for taking your time. I really appreciate it!! I also want to thank you all for your kindness, tolerance and politeness during the tour. Yes, you treated me just like family. You always paid respect to our culture and patiently listened to my sometimes a bit too long stories. You and your husband are sophicticated, intelligent and at the same time very humolous. It was a great fun to talk with you. We talked even about the world future! Of course I was fascinated with your cutest daughter as well. She is not just beautiful but energetic, cheerful and really pleasant to be around. She is a real angel. Again thank you very much for finding me. I really had a wonderful time with you. Take care and keep enjoying your stay in Japan. Arigatou gozaimashita!!!

Once upon a time in Asakusa: Handicraft & Samurai
The Edo period, when Tokyo became the capital, is often seen as the peak of Japanese art and culture! Temple architecture, woodworking, woodblock prints, porcelain... I will use traditional handicrafts to illustrate the history and lifestyle of the people of Tokyo. Who were the samurai? What difference with a Ninja? How were armors crafted? I am also going to teach you all you need to know about those fierce warriors in front of a large collection of authentic weapons & armors.

Asakusa, 3 hours.
Asakusa is not only a temple town but also a traditional town of common peoples's culture. In the typical Tokyo Shitamachi (old residential town), there is Japanese Broadway, interesting and unique river view and many many shops worth to visit. You can enjoy the essence of Shitamachi.
