Interested in art and architecture? Would you like to visit small art galleries that are difficult for first-time visitors to find? Join this tour and stroll around Ginza! Ginza is a luxurious shopping district but few people know many free galleries are scattered in this area. I'll introduce you such galleries, stylish architectures and shops selling artistically displayed goods.
In front of Hakuhinkan Toy park (4 min from Exit 1 of Shinbashi station (Metro Ginza line) or 5 min from Ginza Exit of JR Shinbashi station)
Anywhere in Ginza district
guide fee
meals and drinks, transportation fee from/to Ginza (We wouldn't use any transportation during this walking tour)
Galleries included in this tour basically exhibit contemporary art works. If you're interested in traditional Japanese art, this tour would not be for you.
You can change the starting time of the tour. But many galleries open at 11am so anytime after 11am would be better.
If you want, you can change the meeting place of the tour. Anywhere in Ginza is OK, so let me know your convenient location.
[What to expect]
I think the Ginza area itself is like a huge museum with lots of galleries, stylish buildings and sophisticated shops. We'll visit several small art galleries mainly exhibiting modern art works while watching unique architectures on our way. Museums and architectures shown below as highlights are only a small part. I can't write down all because there are too many! I'll pick up some of them in this tour. Admission fee? Don't worry. No admission fee is required! They want to nurture artists or just introduce their works, so all the galleries included in this tour are free of charge. Isn't that great? (Most of them are small ones. Just two or three rooms.) If you like, I can also take you to shops selling Japanese pottery, cloisonne, swords, paper, stationery and so on. Let's enjoy exploring Ginza together!

“Memorable Tour! ”
We want to thank Jolly for being our guide. Despite the rain on the day of our tour, Jolly was well-prepared with an alternative plan that perfectly accommodated the weather, ensuring we still had a good time with various activities. Her guidance and responsiveness to all our questions were greatly appreciated. Overall, she truly made our first full day in Japan a memorable one. We highly recommend her as a guide!

“Jolly is great!”
We had a really fantastic and fun day with Jolly in Tokyo. She is a very nice and extremely pleasant person, with a real sense of humor. Her English is great. We had booked another tour of the main sites (temples, museums, etc.), so we asked Jolly to really help us see the more fun and everyday side of Tokyo. She took us to a pachinko parlor, a cat cafe, the biggest electronic games arcade I have ever seen (or want to!), a bonsai store, two art galleries and a dealer in old swords, plus the old fish market. We had lunch at a great sushi place in one of the department stores. It was all just tremendous and great fun. I am sure Jolly can give a great tour of the traditional sites as well, but that was not what we ask her for. Highly recommended. Kent and Luca

(8 reviews)Oh! Kent and Luca!! Thank you so much for your heearfelt review. You're so sweet. I really like to share our usual life with my guests and I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed my tour. After your tour, I bought a small bonsai at the bonsai shop, and the cheff at the sushi bar was so skillful and friendly...The tour with you two is quite a nice memory for me, as well! Thank you again for taking time to write this warm review. Take care!! Jolly
“Amazing day with Jolly!”
I cannot recommend Jolly highly enough. She was not only knowledgeable and fun to explore Tokyo with, she was also extremely flexible and willing to adapt the tour to our own interests. We had already been to one of the spots she was going to take us so on the fly, she suggested another neighbourhood we might enjoy. This proved to be one of our favourite parts of visit to Tokyo so far. I highly recommend Jolly as a guide. You won’t be sorry.
