About Tour Guide Yukiko F.

I'm Yukiko. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am 3T lover- Travel, Tea ceremony and Traditional and modern arts. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children.

I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide.

My main tour area are Tokyo, Kamakura, Yokohama, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Gunma and Nikko. It's a private personalized tour so that I'd be happy to discuss about it with you in advance to make your tour pleasant. We can include Japanese cultural experiences if you'd like.

I also have done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. I took the plunge, it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills.

I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter.  I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. I've experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed.

I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.

Yukiko is a MUST for your Japan Holiday!

My 10yo son and I have recently returned from 8 days in Japan, 2 of which were spent with beautiful Yukiko! Travelling solo with a child in a completely different country with completely different language and customs felt more than a little daunting for me, until we met with Yukiko. What an honour and privilege it was to spend 2 full days with such a beautiful person. Not only was Yukiko an incredibly knowledgable, organised, accommodating and professional guide, she was such a delight to spend time with. We had planned a Tokyo stay that married both my interest in the spiritual culture and beautiful nature and my sons obsession with pop culture and lots of anime! Yukiko seamlessly and perfectly managed to show us the best of both worlds in our short time with her. Exhibiting endless patience and kindness with my sons anime passion and chatter, Yukiko was so friendly and fun, having organised engaging activities to keep him interested and curious. Yukiko was incredibly flexible and adaptive when my son was feeling unwell on the second morning, and kindly stopped off on the way to our hotel to get some much needed fruit for us and going with the flow until he came good, then off we went again! Yukiko provided us with so much helpful information about the culture, the language and the rail system, that we felt completely confident and excited about navigating the remaining 6 days on our own. I simply cannot recommend this beautiful woman more highly. We were very sad when our tour ended with Yukiko as it felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. Yukiko went extraordinarily above and beyond to make our visit special, even creating beautiful, meaningful gifts for us to enjoy upon our farewell. We will be back to Japan and look forward to Yukiko showing us around her favourite parts of Tokyo. Yukiko san dōmo arigatō gozaimasu!

Thank you so much for your amazing review! It encouraged me a lot. The 2 days with you and your son were truly memorable for me as well and so happy to hear about all your words. It was 2 days tour, but I felt as if the more time we spent together. I wish this trip will remain as a great memory of Japan in you and your son's heart and meet you again in the future. Domo Arigatou!!!

Yukiko provided us an AMAZING Tokyo Guided Experience

Yukiko proved me and my family an AMAZING Tokyo guided experince. She regularly communicated with me after I first booked the one day tour to clarify what my family was looking for in terms of experiences and sights to see. As this was our very first visit to Tokyo and Japan we were open to hitting the conventional “tourist” areas. Yukiko met us at our hotel as scheduled (she met us early actually). When I booked the tour I informed her that no one in our group of four had any mobility issues. Unfortunately as “Murphy’s Law” would have it, my wife injured her left leg upon arrival into Japan. Although my wife could walk, she was extremely sore and was limping. Yukiko found subway exits that had escalators or elevators to minimize the strain on my wife’s leg. As an American family that has never travelled internationally, it was extremely comforting to have a guide who spoke fluent English. We started our day with a short subway ride to visit a Confucianism temple in Kanda. Then we visited a Shinto shrine that was not swarming with people, which was relaxing. We followed this stop up with something different. We visited one of the oldest origami paper companies in Tokyo. This was a very unique and fun experience. We had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Kobiyashi, an origami master, who displayed his wit and skills, even at a seasoned age of 83. We moved on to Akihabara where my son and his girlfriend were in “Animae Heaven”. We grabbed some lunch when I had a chance to ask Yukiko questions about daily life in Tokyo. After lunch we visited Shibuya and walked through the Golden Gai. Since it was the middle of the day, only a handful of bars were open but we got to see how small these establishments are (many seating just four to six customers at a time). We ended our day with at Shibuya. Of course we crossed the “Scramble”. I’m new to international travel, but my family were extremely happy with Yukiko.

Thank you for sharing your all experiences of our tour in Tokyo! I had an enjoyable time with you all while talking about Japanese daily life, religion, Japanese traditional and pop culture. I've always tried to connect my guest and local people like Mr. Kobayashi as much as I can to create your own experience. It's also great opportunity for locals. Thank you once again. Have a wonderful trip in Japan!

Yukiko is an absolute gem of a guide!!

This was my second time hiring Yukiko as a guide in Tokyo, and once again, she exceeded all expectations. While I’ve visited Japan several times before, this was the first time for my partner and family, and I wanted them to experience the city through the eyes of someone who truly knows and loves it. Yukiko was the perfect choice. We spent the day exploring iconic neighborhoods including Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Asakusa, and the Imperial Palace, as well as the peaceful grounds of Meiji Jingu. Yukiko was patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and wonderfully communicative throughout. She seamlessly adapted the pace and itinerary to suit everyone’s energy levels and interests, and was always attentive to our needs—from food preferences to photo stops to historical curiosities. She has a gift for making the complex stories of Tokyo feel personal and alive. Her warmth and genuine passion for Japanese culture helped my family connect with the city in a meaningful way. Even my usually reserved partner was engaged and smiling the entire time. If you’re looking for a guide who is thoughtful, flexible, and truly cares about your experience, I cannot recommend Yukiko enough. She made our Tokyo visit unforgettable. Thank you, Yukiko
