【East Gardens of the Imperial Palace】-A junction where Japan’s past, present and future meet!
There was a huge Shogun's residence as well as governmental buildings, and his private harem in this area. In 1869, due to the Meiji Restoration (Japanese civil war), this place became the residence of the Emperor. (The Shogun was exiled to Shizuoka, near Mt. Fuji.)
There is a beautiful samurai-style Japanese garden, with a pond, stones, and koi fish—it's so refreshing. You can admire beautiful seasonal flowers in the garden, including cherry blossoms in April, as well as irises, wisteria, roses, camellias, and many more.
There used to be a huge Edo Castle. Although it was destroyed by fire and lost in the 17th century, today you can see a replica.
You can enjoy dynamic stone walls and noble pine trees. It's a wonderful place to observe the contrast between Old and New Tokyo—tall modern financial buildings and the traditions of the Samurai period (17th to 19th centuries).
The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace are typically closed on Mondays.
In that case, we will take a stroll through the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens, which are surrounded by greenery and walls, offering a serene and sacred atmosphere. This area was once part of Edo Castle, but since the Meiji period, it has been transformed into a beautiful park through the efforts of volunteers. We will walk up to the famous Nijubashi (Double Bridge), a symbol of the Imperial family.
Enjoy the tranquility as we explore the government buildings, historic architecture, and the moat.
Lunch

【Meiji Jingu Shrine】Discover and deepen your understanding of the Yamato dynasty, the world's oldest dynasty, and Shinto, Japan's indigenous spiritual tradition
Meiji Jingu is one of the major Shinto shrines in Japan, set within a vast forested area (70 ha.) in the heart of the bustling metropolis of Tokyo.
As soon as you enter the grounds, you'll forget you're in a busy urban area and discover a serene, traditional Japanese atmosphere amidst lush greenery.
It was founded in 1920 to honor the virtues of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, who played a key role in establishing the foundation of modern Japan.
Meiji Jingu is open every day, though the opening hours vary according to the season.
【Takeshita Street】 (Harajuku/pop culture) or 【Sake Tasting】 (at Luxurious Omotesando) or 【Ota Museum】 (wood block print)
1.Takeshita Street (Harajuku/pop culture) or 2.Sake Tasting (at Luxurious Omotesando) or 3.Ota Museum (wood block print) at your choice
1. Takeshita street, situated just in front of Harajuku station, has been a Mecca for Japanese teenagers, especially for girls, from the time when I was a young student. (sadly very long time ago for me.)
There are many shops selling items a girl is dreaming about, such as charming cloths, lovely shoes, cute accessories and so on...
I remember very well the days, when I visited frequently the shops of Takeshita Street with my friends, 30 years ago.
I was fascinated by the sparkling atmosphere and vibrant energy of Takeshita Street, ーa vibe of dreamy girls.
This street is well known as a Mecca for girls in Lolita costume.
They are so cute, Kawaii!

Dear Guests,
Hello!
My name is Hiromi. I grew up near the Imperial Palace surrounded by history, art, music and nice family.
I used to work in Imperial Palace as a guide because I love my hometown and to meet new people and expand my horizon. It brings me great joy to see my guest's smile. I treat them like close friend.
Every tour is an opportunity for me to learn and grow, and I continually strive to improve my skills to be the best guide I can be.
I'd like to share the magic of Japan with you. Let’s create moments that you’ll cherish always, together.
I believe that travel is not just about visiting new places, but about enriching your life, expanding your horizons, and experiencing sensational moments that leave you with a deep sense of wonder. I’m here to help you discover Japan in a way that will touch your heart and inspire you to see the world through a new lens.
Let me share how I became a tour guide. Since I was a child, I’ve always been fascinated by foreign films and cultures. I studied English and French, traveled to the U.S. and Europe multiple times, and was always captivated by the diversity of the world.
But as I started working and met foreign colleagues who practiced martial arts and had a deep knowledge of Japanese culture, I realized how rich and beautiful Japan’s culture truly is. From traditional architecture and tea ceremonies to Bushido and kimono, Japan has so many hidden treasures that moved me deeply, and I wanted to share these with people from around the world.
In addition to guiding in Tokyo, I’ve also had the privilege of taking guests to iconic places like Kyoto, Osaka, Himeji, Kanazawa, and Takayama. Each destination offers a unique story and charm, and I love sharing these gems with my visitors.

“Passionate friend to all!”
My wife and I had a wonderful and memorable experience with Hiromi — she is an amazing tour guide but also much more than that! She gave great context to the market with so much information we would not have heard otherwise, and she is so passionate about Japan and incredibly expressive about it. She was so attentive to us and at the same time friendly with so many people in the market. She loves people, and communicating with people, and it shows! We felt like we made a new friend and we hope she gets to visit us in America some day so we can return the gift she gave to us. We could not recommend her more highly!

“It’s like visiting a new city with an old friend ”
Aside from a wealth of knowledge, Hiromi was always gaging the pace of the tour. Since we had the 8 hour tour from fish market to Skytree. There was much to accomplish. And as we are such foodies and always hungry for the best of everything there was always time for this. She is so kind that we felt we made a new friendship. We plan to invite her to dinner in our return . It was a great way to explore the best in 1 day .

Michael sama, Cavalier, Buenas tardes! Thank you for your review. I am truely appreciate it! and my apologies for my belated reply!!! I have guided tours in Tsukiji nearly a hundred times, but Michael-sama, you are the first person who has resonated deeply with the culture of KATSUOBUSHI (Shimmered, smoked and fermented skipjack-tuna) I was truly moved by your ability to see beyond the surface and appreciate the heart and dedication of the artisan behind it. I was also deeply impressed by Luis, his keen sense of food selection. When I was about to buy a canned coffee from a vending machine, he said, "I don’t drink such beverages because I want to truly savor only what is genuinely delicious." That moment struck me as truly remarkable—because, as he rightly said, the food we eat becomes a part of us. And when the three of us shared a meal together, taking the time to savor each bite with gratitude, it was such a beautiful and happy moment. I sincerely hope to see you again when you visit Japan next time. Let’s enjoy a relaxed lunch as friends! Me gustaría expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a ambos. Por favor cuida tu cuerpo. Romy^^
