If you want to experience the real daily life of Tokyo, rather than visiting tourist spots, this tour is perfect for you!
Togoshi-Ginza Shotengai (local shopping street) is very long—1.3 km long.
Sprinkled along its length are about 400 different shops.
Togoshi-Ginza does not have high fashion or high-class restaurant ,but it is quaint, and representative of the typical shopping street, that most Japanese experience on a daily basis.
Let's take a peek into daily life in Tokyo with me!
Togoshi-Ginza station or Togoshi-Kouen station
- Start to Walk on Togoshi-ginza Shopping Street. There are a lot of attractive stores so there are always crowds of people, most likely locals. Every store has a unique personality and the atmosphere of the street is absolutely amazing. You can find various local food. Karaage(fried chicken), Onigiri(rice balls), Taiyaki, and so on. Togoshi-ginza is a famous place for Tabearuki: it’s mean eating while walking, so let’s give it a try and I will introduce delicious restaurants that only locals know about.
Togoshi Hachiman shrine sits just next to the Shopping street.
The shrine is surrounded by nature and neatly maintained and very beautiful.
The Shrine was made of wood, and it is a precious and rare building ,because it survived the war and many earthquakes for a long time. In just 2 years, this shrine will become 500 years old.
Let's take a break while drinking Japanese tea in the rest area.
Let’s stop by Togoshi Park, an incredibly beautiful and peaceful spot that doesn't get much attention from anyone but the locals.
There is a large pond, a waterfall, bridges, an artificial mountain, and magnificent entrance gates.
You can see the neighborhood children playing and people taking a lunch break here.
I have 3 options so you can choose!
If you are hot spring(onsen) lovers:
