Meeting Point
Your hotel or Akihabara Station
- If meeting at your hotel, the earliest meeting time is 10:30 because most shops related to anime open around 11:00. If meeting at Akihabara Station, we will meet in front of the JR Ticket Office right outside of Electric Town Exit, JR Akihabara Station.
Akihabara
Akihabara is a unique and vibrant part of Tokyo’s identity, known globally as a paradise for anime, manga, and game lovers. Akihabara is often called the “Holy Land for Otaku” (die-hard fans of anime, manga, and games). It’s where fans can fully immerse themselves in their favorite worlds.
At Tamashii Nations Store, explore high-end collectible figures from hit series like Gundam and Dragon Ball, with stunning displays and limited-edition items. Step into gaming history at Super Potato, a retro game shop filled with classic consoles, cartridges, and rare treasures from the 80s and 90s. Then head to ASTOP @ AKIBA Cultures Zone, a showcase-style shop where fans and collectors sell anime figures and goods, offering great finds and bargains you won’t see elsewhere.
Ikebukuro- Animate Main Store
Animate Ikebukuro Main Store is the world's largest anime shop and a must-visit destination for anime fans. After a major renovation in 2023, it reopened as an 11-floor complex (from the basement level 2 to the 9th floor). In 2024, it was officially certified by Guinness World Records as the largest anime store in the world.
Nakano Broadway
Nakano Broadway is a renowned shopping complex, celebrated as a mecca for enthusiasts of Japanese pop culture, particularly anime and manga. It is a vibrant hub for "otaku" culture, attracting domestic and international visitors.
A significant draw of Nakano Broadway is the presence of Mandarake, a chain of specialty stores dealing in secondhand manga, anime merchandise, and collectibles. Beyond Mandarake, Nakano Broadway houses over 300 shops across its lower floors. These include stores selling vintage toys, rare video games, idol merchandise, and niche collectibles.

We recommend taking the tour Monday through Friday, as anime-related stores get very crowded on Saturdays, Sundays, and other holidays. Of course, however, it is possible to participate on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as well, although they will be more crowded.
