My name is Kumiko.
I used to live in New York and London and worked for US companies for many years. Based on my experience, I recognize that Japan is a fascinating country, but at the same time, it is unique in many ways. Tokyo, as the capital of Japan, is a unique and diverse mix of cutting-edge technology, traditional culture, and Western influences.
As an art lover, I am happy to show you many galleries in Tokyo. I received a Certificate of Art Business Masterclass from Christie's.
As a guide, I'd like to explain to my guests about Japanese culture as well as background and introduce popular places and food. I think most visitors coming to Japan are hoping both to enjoy themselves and also have a meaningful encounter with a different culture.
I am looking forward to helping you explore my city and enjoy everything it has to offer.
“Kumiko is an excellent guide!”
We give Kumiko 5 plus stars for her excellent guide service. She is a wonderful, charming individual who is very knowledgeable. We wanted a guide to take us to small art galleries and she brought us to some wonderful places and gave us a lot of background on artists, galleries and neighborhoods. We would definitely work with her again and would recommend her to anyone. Kumiko is a lovely person and an excellent guide for your time in Tokyo! Thank you Kumiko!

“Orientation and Art”
Kumiko gave us a great orientation to the city for our first day in Tokyo. What had seemed like an intimidating place quickly gave way to many interesting neighborhoods, some bustling, others leafy and quiet. We focused on art and her insights were very helpful. She was kind and very accommodating of our sometimes changing needs. I would recommend Kumiko highly.

“A great day with Kumiko!”
We spent our first day in Tokyo with Kumiko. It was a great experience and one I would highly recommend. She helped us get Suica cards which were very useful as we navigated the Tokyo transportation system. Kumiko enabled us to efficiently see the highlights of Tokyo (Temples, Shrines, Harjuku and other areas) without spending time getting lost and trying to figure out directions in train stations. Her English is very very good and she explained the history and background of the places we visited. Thank you Kumiko!

(8 reviews)Dear Susan and Tim, Thank you so much for your feedback. I certainly enjoyed the time with both of you. It's easy to catch a cold in between seasons and be exhausted because of jeg lag, different cultures, and the environment. Please take care of yourself and enjoy the rest of your journey in Japan!
