“Excellent guide, focused to meet your interests-Accented, but very understandable English ”
We had a lovely, very long day with Tomoko. She set up a private itinerary for us that she worked very hard to create to assure meeting our needs & interests. Specifically, we visited Mt Fuji by express train in the morning and followed by a few night-time Tokyo activities. In addition to getting all the tickets (some required more than 2-weeks advance purchase) and making other arrangements, Tomoko did all the translations throughout the day at train stations, restaurants, etc. and got us where we wanted to go. I have mobility (walking) constraints, so that made things more challenging for her, especially at Mt Fuji, but she persevered and provided an excellent result despite heavy crowds. On Mt Fuji, it is pretty unusual to have an excellent viewing day. Mt Fuji is “shy” and often obscured my clouds. I think if it was rainy, foggy, or freezing, this would be a location to avoid and go to “plan B” instead. (Tomoko had one ready if it had been needed.) Weather conditions, of course, are not within any guide’s control but they could absolutely ruin a Mt Fiji visit. For our evening, we had a wonderful visit to a night-time, lantern-lit cherry blossom festival on Meguro canal. It was gorgeous! Then we experienced Shibuya crossing (not to be missed) and a nighttime overview of the city from Shibuya Sky observatory. It was a VERY long but wonderful day -so much variety! - thanks to Tomoko. I recommend her as a guide!

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. I truly appreciate the time you took to share your experience. It was such a pleasure spending the day with you. In this season seeing Mt Fuji is very difficult. Although the top was hidden by clouds, we could see Mt. Fuji. Lucky! I also loved our evening walk along the Meguro River and seeing the cherry blossoms lit up at night. The view from the Shibuya Sky was excellent. I will keep the photo you took forever. Thank you as well for your patience and positivity throughout the long day. It meant a lot to me, and I was glad I could support you in making the trip comfortable and enjoyable. I will always remember our day together. I hope you had a wonderful time in Japan, and I would love to see you again someday! Tomoko

“Awesome Tour Guide in Tokyo”
We had the best time with Tomoko as our guide in Tokyo. She was very friendly, knowledgeable about Japan’s history and very easy to understand. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and felt like she put together a great tour to the Imperial Palace, Uyeno Park to see the cherry blossoms and Shibuya Crossing. “Moko” was very attentive to our needs and made sure we all stayed together and that she addressed our questions. Thank you Moko!!

Half day traditional Tokyo tour, Yanaka and Ueno!
Yanaka is an old temple town which survived WWII air raids, having nostalgic atmosphere. Walking around the back streets, you can see usual Japanese lives. The shopping street has a variety of shops. It also has a sculpture museum Asakura Sculpture Museum. Enjoying the old town, we can reach Ueno. It has a lot of museums, including National Museum, a shrine with a lot of red torii gates, a nice park which has 800 cherry trees, Ueno Zoo and also the bustling Ameyoko shopping town.

Home visit, Private sushi making tour in Tokyo
I pick you up at Tsukishima station. On the way to the venue, we drop in at a supermarket and do some shopping for sushi making including sashimi. At my private house, we start making sushi. After finishing making sushi, we start a Sushi party! Having the sushi you made, we talk a lot with some green tea, beer, or sake. After that, I send you to the nearest station.

Tokyo morning tour at a Japanese garden, Tsukiji food market
If you have only a half day available, this is a good tour. Tsukiji food market is one of the most popular visiting places. There is a lot of shops which sell fish, dried food, wagyu- beef and of course 'tuna'. You can eat some sushi, seafood barbecue, Japanese omelet, Japanese sweets and so on. After Tsukiji we walk to Hamarikyuu Japanese garden .( about 10-minute walk). It has a beautiful Japanese garden surrounded by the skyscrapers.

Tokyo,Now &Then
Tokyo is a modern metropolitan city built on an ancient Edo, where Tokugawa samurai government was settled. Even now we can find old relics of ancient Edo among truly modern Tokyo streets. Asakusa, Ueno and the Imperial Palace itself are some of the examples. Let’s explore Tokyo with me and find the soul of Japan.
