About Tour Guide Tim D.
I left Canada in 1998 for a 6-month stay in Japan—and never looked back. After two decades immersed in the culture of Osaka, I’ve spent the last six years mastering Tokyo’s hidden corners. As a scholar and educator, I bridge the gap between Japan’s legendary history and its modern culture and culinary scenes. I don’t just show you the city; I give you 25 years of lived perspective.

“An Outstanding, Personalized Tour with Tim”
Tim was fantastic from start to finish. We told him from the beginning that we wanted more of a freestyle experience rather than following a rigid itinerary, and he completely understood what we were looking for. Throughout the day, Tim paid attention to what we were enjoying and continuously adjusted the tour based on our interests. He was incredibly flexible, making changes on the fly, adding things he thought we would appreciate, and spending more time in places that caught our attention. Nothing ever felt rushed or scripted. That flexibility made the entire day feel personal and spontaneous. Tim was knowledgeable, easygoing, accommodating, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience. By the end of the day, it felt like the tour had been designed specifically for us. We had an excellent time and would absolutely recommend Tim to anyone looking for a knowledgeable guide who listens to his guests and is willing to adapt the day around what they actually want to see and experience. Five stars without hesitation.
