“Wonderful day with Rika!”
Our guided tour was an unforgettable experience because Rika thoughtfully organized and introduced Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. We went to Miyajima first to beat the crowds, and the Island was so beautiful, peaceful and enchanting. The iconic floating torii gate was stunning in person and we were able to capture some amazing photos. We visited the temples briefly and then had time to explore the island town and try the local momiji manju. Rika then took us to an amazing traditional Japanese lunch in Hiroshima, and we folded origami as she shared the purpose and stories of Sadako and the paper cranes. A great experience for our teenage daughters! Hiroshima Peace Park was deeply moving and we walked away with a renewed perspective on peace and resilience. Rika was incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and passionate. She brought us to several historical remnants off the beaten path and it was moving to see how they were preserved throughout the rebuilt city as a tribute to the past. The balance between the historical weight of Hiroshima and the tranquility of Miyajima made this tour incredibly well-rounded. I highly recommend this tour with Rika as she made the day seamless and an experience that stays with you long after the trip ends.
